No Bike tonight

Unfortunately, I have a severe arthritic attack on my right thumb which is swollen and very painful and is making life difficult all round. I hope it clears up soon and I can get back to normal life - the pain is something else.

Take care.

okay so yesterday, Sharon called me, and asked if we could give her and Sam a ride to her doctor's because Sam was having some muscle strain issues. I could not go, so Mom went, and when she returned, things were very different.

Sharon was having pain in her leg, and her doctor believed it could be a blood clot, and so had her go to the nearby hospital. Once there, Mom was told she couldn't stay because of COVID, so she took Sam home and then came home herself.

we took mom to the geriatric clinic for an assessment, and the doctor there is adding a medication so mom can be less agitated at night, we'll see how that goes.

Meanwhile, my daughter may be attending NAIT in September, we're waiting to find out the details.

As for me, well, we'll have to see how that goes too.

It's out, it's out!

Hello out there,

Like the title says "Walker's Path Chapter 6 Fractured" is out!

I had a tough time writing this one. It felt like a really shitty time for Walker and I even teared up apologizing to him. His past is pretty tragic and when I wrote a certain sentence in the story it only solidified my thoughts.

I hope you all enjoy this one because it was a pretty big emotional ride for me.

Choosing faces, via Cellphone App

No one app will do it all.

First, dealing with the appearance. If you wear glasses, take them off now. Holding the phone above eye level (high angles, everyone!) we snap the base image.

I’ve paid for a month or so of the Pro option in FaceApp, but you really don’t have to for our use.

Hit Gallery, a button in the bottom row in the middle; The app will want access to your photos. Some people worry that FaceApp is being used to strip mine faces for Facial Recognition, but we’ve clearly decided we don’t mind giving them a photo or two from our camera photo stream.

Just a quick note to let you all know that I won't be able to post the new chapter or MSPD until tomorrow night. It's practically finished but Martin ended up working a double shift today and won't be home until after midnight. Since s/he also has to get up for work tomorrow at five that means we'll have no time to do the editing together until s/he gets home tomorrow evening. I am working on something else though and may have some other stuff to post soonish.

Just wanted to give everyone (that's not on Discord) a heads up as to what has gone on the last couple days.

About 2 days ago(?) I was told by others that the site was down. I went to investigate and found the "Front End" servers each with a "load" of 200+

I killed varnish, to let the front ends slow down, I did some maintenance, and then I edited the virtual servers to upgrade them from 4 to 8 cores of processing power.

Once rebooted everything seemed to be fine, and even a bit snappier so I was happy with this result and let it fly.

I never thought my life could be like this

Growing up intersex and transgender was tough on me. I looked, walked, and talked like a girl while growing up because of being intersex, but since I wasn't allowed to be a girl, I was beaten, urinated on, had my jacket set on fire with me in it, had my hair set on fire and kids spit on it to 'put it out', and worst of all, I was sexually assaulted by a neighbor when I was only 8.

All the way into adulthood, I was called a freak and an it, and every time I asked someone out they freaked out that something like me would even have the audacity to ask them.

So, I found some poetry that I wrote last year, and it lit a spark to write more, and I have an idea for a story!

My question is : I'm toying with including song lyrics at the beginning of each chapter, but am not sure on the best way to format it. I was thinking of doing it as part of chapter titles, similar to a subtitle. Or using it to start the beginning of each chapter. I want to use it to draw readers in.

If anyone has ideas...

Well, I've noticed with the final chapter of 'Tommy - The Trials and Tribulations of a Girl?', Chapter 253, that the Total Hits has gone astronomical. Most other chapters have topped out at around 1,200 to 1,300 hits with 0, 1, 2, or 3 Daily Hits, but Chapter 253 has constantly received multiple Daily Hits and is now up to 3,112 with today's Daily Hits at 25!

I'm wondering why Chapter 253 is receiving so many Daily Hits?

I did a fast proof read (too fast, as it turns out, as there are one or two rough patches), and turned it into an experiment on more rapid posting from an iPad. I don’t think it went too badly. Again, if my notes are to be believed, I wrote it sometime before December of 2013, when I was just a lurker here, before I made my account.

These are all matters of usage which changes over time and place and is to be celebrated so long as it does not impede communication. None is more ‘correct’ than the other.

New, Original Story. Maybe There's Still Something Left Afterall

Based on a little "What If" scenario, I decided to attempt to write a new story. Surprisingly, it took only a couple months to complete. I imagine some will pick up on what's going on right away. I am being deliberately vague in the first chapter, but all will be clear, hopefully, after second chapter. There are six chapters in all, and the story is a bit over twelve thousand words. I would rate it a mild PG. Things are seldom as they seem. Skim milk masquerades as cream.
