my lastest piece is surprisingly autobiographical

I had not intended this when I started writing "Six Forty-five", but its a lot closer to what I was like at that age than I care to think about. I was a pretty odd kid, yeah?

Six Forty-Five, Part 1

Six Forty-Five Part 1

The day before everything went crazy, I lay in bed, watching my alarm clock as it hit six forty-five. I knew that in five minutes my alarm would be going off, so it was useless to try and fall back to sleep, and yet I was in no hurry to leave the warmth of my bed. I know that for most people, it would be pretty weird to have your alarm set for ten to the hour instead of on the hour or on the half-hour, but I have a lot of little quirks like that, and most of them dont make any sense, even to me.

Finally, I sighed, and got out of bed.

Taluld Torah will be Open to All?

Based on some conversations during the last few weeks there has been a suggestion by Rami that we have an Torah study and discussions. If this is done it would be in the Forums section of this site. I would be the moderator, including what topics would be discussed and for how long.

--SEPARATOR--

Things to note:

1. You don't have to be Jewish to get involved.

2. No experience is necessary.

3. You may suggest a topic.

Woman dressed as boy to trick teen girls into sex.

A story of a 20 yr old girl who dressed as a boy to have relationships with younger women is jailed. Here's how the Daily Wail saw it:

Wild Magic 30

I came into a well lit house, and everyone was up, watching a DVD. As I walked in, Mom saw the mess my tears had made of my face and makeup, and she quickly wrapped me in a hug.

"Are you all right, honey?”

“It’s been an interesting night, Mom. Very interesting.” I giggled as I tried to wipe off my makeup with some tissue.

Grandma smiled, and I knew she had been probing. I really do need to learn how to shield.

“I know that look, Mom. Emily, what happened after you left?”

I was dreading Chorus as I walked down the hall toward my last class of the day, however. Today would be the first day that the "groupies", as Ethan had started calling them, would be in the class.

Part 5

Chapter 15

When I awoke, Park was gone. I felt a mix of emotions as I searched the house for him, realizing that he most likely was already on one of the hundreds of transport ships. A great wave of sadness washed over me, knowing that I would be alone for a long, long time. Then I felt anger, anger for him leaving and not saying goodbye.

I trembled as the fear of the unknown kept invading my mind, and a long shuddering sigh escaped my lips. I swallowed and gently wiped a tear away, a tear... for Park. I knew why he slipped away while I slumbered, his uncomfortable fear of leaving me behind... trying to say goodbye was bad enough last night, what would it have been like this morning?

Return To Sender

By Jennifer Cristine

Part 13

I was sitting with my beautiful children one night watching TV the news was on and the major news for the day was the crazy price of fuel. I wondered why alternatives were still hard to find and inefficient.

*Molly? What’s happening with fossil fuel alternatives?* I asked into the ether.

once again regarding through the years

I'm sorry for those who are waiting for the next chapter. I am still having internet issues with computer and can't seem to get the phone to teather to the puter. I also have had several other ideas pop into my head and wanted to get the stuff out of my head. I do have a couple of Tracy chapters almost ready but working on something and need to get it looked at twice for the contact, must make sure I don't mess up bible wise

Getting some development up top

I was shaving today, and as I tried to get rid of some more of the hair on my chest, I could see (and feel) some development in my breast area. Then I put on my shirt, and I could see my nipples sticking out and thought "My God - I've got real boobs at last !"

Needless to say, I'm pretty happy about this.

It's Only Words...

A couple of items that have come up at least twice recently, that I hope people will keep in mind.

DEFINITELY -- For some reason, spellcheckers frequently mistake misspellings of "definitely" for "defiantly" (challenging, or aggressively contrary). In most cases, "definitely" is, uh, definitely the word they're looking for.

PRONE/SUPINE -- Lately, a couple of stories have had a character topple "prone" onto their back. "Prone" is on one's stomach, face down. It's "supine" that's face up, on one's back. Mnemonic: "supine" has "up" in it.

Hope that helps.

Productive Weekend

I had Friday off and apart from a little shopping, buying a new tyre for the car and doing some scribbling, it was a non-event. Okay, I wore a skirt and some makeup for a change - I should have gone for a bike ride but couldn't be bothered.

After nodding off in the chair I started a short story, and two hours later I'd done two thousand words - it sort of wrote itself once I got started - my stuff seems to.

Slight Delay

Sorry for the delay in Seasons of the Witch but real life has been interfering with my writing. Its a combination of several things including very little sleep, a certain video game and the beginning of a cold. I hope that it will be done soon but seeing as I've got less than a page of Ch.7 written it might still be a few days.

Thanks for the patience,

memory

Reading Karen Bishop's story has had me thinking about memory - especially my memories of my abuse. For most of my life, I had little conscious recall of what happened to me, mostly it was something that I only had flashes and nightmares about. Now, I can remember, and I think that's better, but its been a painful journey, and I'm not done yet.

Ah, well.

You Must Remember This: "Forceful" and Memories

For anybody interested in the nature of memory, and especially for those with traumatic memories, there is an amazing article in the March 2012 issue of Wired magazine. Entitled, “The Forgetting Pill Erases Painful Memories Forever”, it tells of research into a memory-specific eraser, of sorts. But even more fascinating are recent discoveries in memory research: That any memory–even those associated with trauma resulting in PTSD–is not fixed and immutable. Memories are not solid, unchangeable fact.

Amazing compliment at work.

Well, last night I got a compliment that blew my case of "Tg PMS" (That's what Bailey Summers calls those times when I struggle with feeling like a fake). What happened was I started early, and I was talking with one of the evening staff who I dont know well, and was gushing over my daughter. His response "Ah, you're just a proud mom."

"Mom".

He called me "Mom"

Some days I love my work, others it’s a bind. I probably work too many hours and have too little fun. I live well, and am quite wealthy, although the future doesn’t seem as rosy as it once did.

My great grandparents established a shop in this town, over a hundred years ago, my grandparents expanded it several times and my own father turned it into a department store employing a hundred staff.

About comments

Hi everyone...

I'm registered on this site since about a year and I commented quite a few stories. The problem I encountered was that people really prefer the comments on their stories differently.
I actually avoided registering on this site since I was used a rougher climate from another fiction site and didn't want to melt people in the rain. In the end I did it anyway because someone started to complain she got too few comments.

Wild Magic 29

We had a surprisingly good evening, and when Tim and I got up to leave, Dad got up and shook his hand.

“Thank you, Tim. Although it was inadvertent, we have intruded into your date, and you handled it very well. This has been a wonderful evening, and I believe most of the credit for that goes to you and Emily.”

“Um, well, thanks, sir.” He said, chuckling. “It has been a lot of fun, and since the object was to provide Emily with a date that was different, this seems to have been a success!”
