A day at the fair

took my daughter to the fair today, and she had an awesome time. She tried some rides, played some games, got a couple of goofy prizes, and ate really bad-for-you food. It was awesome for her, but I got a little extra gift for me - a caricature of me as a girl fairy.

Its an awesome pic, and if I ever can, I take a photo of it and upload it so you all can see.

Its moments like this that remind me just how blessed I am.

Re: Dorothy cry for help

Dorothy mentioned someone with any names. Well that person is me.

I went to doctor yesterday for the results of some tests I have been getting lately. Had hot flashes, breast pain etc. I expected that I was going into menopause or something.

Well I am barren. I will never be able to have children. While I kinda expected that it still hit me really really hard.

It's too flippin HOT!

Contrary to what we have been receiving here in the UK for far too long, somebody switched the monsoon off this week. We now have days of hotter, hotter, HOTTER.

Unfortunately, the room I do my scribblings in is the one with the cupboard full of computers. It's too hot. As I write it's 33 centigrade in the cupboard, and I'm having to turn almost everything off to stop it dying on its own. This means that my time at the keyboard is limited to whenever I can get myself out of bed and ready in the mornings, before it all heats up.

Common Courtesy.

This isn't directed at anyone here, just some in-general observations and a recent experience of mine.

I was at the grocery store today and their self checkout lanes were down, so of course the registers that were going had long lines and people were patient about it given the obvious problems the place was having with its systems.

What Horror Movies Do You Like?

Recently I've been asked by an old friend of mine to write a script for his feature movie (this will be his first movie). Nothing too extravagant nor complicated, mind you, but something that can make people scream and possibly die of heart attack. Having never written horror stories before, this is a bit of a challenge. My aim is to write the best story which my friend, the first-time director will be able to create into a real masterpiece. So said, the best ghost movie of all time, or at least for the next 5 years.

You Had Me At 'Girly Lamp'

What happens when the lamp you buy isn't the one you intend to buy?

A story inspired by a sketch with the annotation "girly lamp."

A friend of mine wrote this, he normally doesn't write TG stories, but upon reading this I knew it needed to be shared. It is definitely written tongue in cheek and don't let any of the tags turn you away from this story.

Can I ask a favor of you guys?

Can I ask of favor of all my online friends? I have a friend who is in great distress, and she needs all the positive vibes you guys can send. I dont want to share her name or what's happening because not everyone is comfortable having their lives splashed across the net, but if you guys leave a note, I'll pass it on.

Thanks guys.

The worst pain

Well, last night was a rough one for me. It started with an uncomfortable feeling in my genital area, which by lunch had progressed to actual pain.

The pain of course caused me a lot of psychological distress to the point that I was hyperventilating, but thank God one of my co-workers seemed to understand why this was so much WORSE for me than for a non trans guy - every painful feeling was a reminder of the part of me I would give anything not to possess at all, and I actually had to repress an urge to take the box-cutting knife I carry and perform some impromptu surgery with it.

jobinterview

Wednesday I have a 2h jobinterview at the same employer but a different departement. Not my favorite job (accounting) but I can't really chose a job. It's only an internship at the moment but it would nullify the verdict of the retireent commission if I would get the job and there's a chance to get get it after the internship

Also applying for another job that is closer to y intrest although it's also partially accounting (account manager for subsidising sports).

This is another strange dream you've gotten us into!

Was sitting here and just remembered the very odd dream I was having this morning before I woke up.

It was about Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser, two of Fritz Leiber's fantasy characters from a series of books back in the 40s, 50s and 60s.

Bears Know Best

Part 14 of 28
by Tiffany Shar

Edited by Carla Ann

Thirteen year-old Taylor Landt’s step-mother believes that he should be the next great football player for the high school he’ll be attending in the fall. Having a dad who is an accomplished professional linebacker, and growing up surrounded by professional football coaches and players should all but guarantee his ability to dominate on the field. Unfortunately he hates playing football, and knows his height and build will never allow him to be successful at the sport. Faced with an obsessive step-mother who ignores his obvious talents in other areas but instead thinks he is a blight on his father’s reputation, Taylor does the unthinkable and moves to Ohio to live with his mother who abandoned their family and left him with his father eight years ago.

Soon after his arrival, Taylor discovers there’s more to his inability to follow in his fathers’ footsteps than just his height. Will it be possible for him to make friends in a new town in the middle of nowhere outside the shadow of his dad's fame? Will Taylor be able to finally make peace with his mother who abandoned them all those years ago? And how long can he keep his secrets to himself?

Wow, I can be really hard on my characters...

I can be hard on my characters...

Well, progress has been rather slow for my current story, Destiny: Triumph of a Spellbinder, mostly because I've just gotten through a round of revisions. Me and my revisions.... Sheesh!

Comments on Past Works

This has been an interesting weekend. I posted the final parts of my latest story, Adam and the Three Wishes, and then went through the post partum depression of wondering whether or not it would be received favorably. Being filled with a lot of self doubt doesn't help one bit. Thank you everyone for reading and commenting. I feel a lot better now.

Cindy's Choices 2 - The Verdict

Author's note: A while back I wrote a story called "Cindy's Choices", and let you guys play jury, deciding on the proper punishment for the bad guy. But as there wasnt a consensus verdict, I'm using my option as "judge" and pronouncing sentence ...

Cindy’s Choices 2 - The Verdict

Mark lay helpless in his bed, unable to move at all.

“How could it have gone so wrong? Thanks to that computer program I had the girl I crushed on in high school, and a enough money to last me the rest of my life. And now, I cant so much as raise my head from the bed!”

Earrings feel heavy

I mentioned earlier that I bought a pair of hoop earrings. The one thing I wasn't prepared for was how heavy they feel. It felt like my earlobes were about to drag on the ground. Is this normal? Do people get use to it? Maybe buying at Walmart wasn't the best idea. I want to get some that dangle, but I often temper things with not wanting to push the issue of gender with other people.

MAY IT BE
Composed & performed by Enya
The Fellowship of the Ring's end credits begin with Enya's composition, "May It Be," wherein the broken Fellowship is offered a blessing and a faint glimpse of hope: "A promise lives within you now." All of us, human being we are a promise for God

MAY IT BE

May it be an evening star
Shines down upon you
May it be when darkness falls
Your heart will be true
You walk a lonely road
Oh! How far you are from home

Darkness has come
Believe and you will find your way
Darkness has fallen
A promise lives within you now

Wiggo Wins!

Just got back from a nice walk around the local area, checked the news to see if the TdF had finished...

...and yup, it had and there were no unforseen calamities, so we ended up with the perfect result as predicted for the past few days: Cav won the stage, Wiggo won the race, and Froome was second.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cycling/18946960

Congratulations to all three!

Next stop: a certain quadrennial sporting event... which starts on Friday evening for most, but Wednesday afternoon for the footballers (!)

My orientation in question?

had a rather strange moment last night. I went to work a little early, and I decided to read the paper. While reading the sports section I saw a picture of a male swimmer who is going to the Olympics, and I found myself almost unable to tear my eyes away for far longer than what you would expect from someone who has always insisted that my sexual orientation is towards women.

I dont know what to think about this, or what this ultimately means.

Ah, well.

Colorado shooting hits home

When I heard the awful news about a shooting at a midnight premier of "The Dark Knight Rises", I was filled with grief for the victims. Then I found out it had taken place in Aurora, a town I know well, because I lived there for a year. Somehow that made it worse, and I wept openly as the news trickled in about the horrible day.

My prayers are for the victims, their families, and the first responders who managed to bring the shooter in alive to face trial.

Now dont mind me, I think I still have a few tears left to shed.

I'm proud of my mother

Well, my mother had a long talk with my aunt, and straightened her out in terms of what she wants - That she'll try a bit harder to take care of her health, but she's happy living where she's living, having me as her roommate, and working as long as she's able to.

But what made me proudest was in her conversation she referred to me as Dorothy, her daughter, and used the proper pronouns the whole time.

I'm so blessed to have a mom who gets it like mine.

Owww and Yay

Despite being in a great deal of pain thanks to some seriously crazy storms that have come through here in the last week and a half I have managed to finish the editing I was working on. This is a good thing, in that I can focus on other things for a while. So Yay.

This means I have nothing else (besides pain and Whedonfest) distracting me from other stories. Now if the storms stop maybe I can get K&K 5 finished. It hurts too much to really write, as it takes a while to really say anything at the speed I can go now. But here's hoping.

Hello David 1

David, awkward around boys and unable to fit into their rough
and tumble activities, had felt much more at home with girls and their
generally gentler pursuits. By the time he was seven he’d developed a deep
longing to be one of them and detested the body he’d been born with.

Connie decided to take matters into her own hands and
become the girl that she knew she was supposed to be!

Its been said before, but it bears repeating

Its been said before, but it bears repeating - be careful what you put on line. I was fooling around on Google search, and typed in "Transgender cure" and a post I had made on the support site came up as the number 3 hit. For me, I'm out and I don't really care who knows it, but if you're in the closet at all, be careful.
