I am reposting this original post from 2009. It did okay the first time and I got some really good stories which added to it in great ways... but I've always felt so much more could be done and written, so I'm re-opening

Jane's jaw dropped, she looked from the floating notification to Mr Brewster sitting at the table, "You're a quest giver?"

The man deflated, his shoulders drooping. "I'm an Innkeeper ain't I? Of course I'm a quest giver."

He slapped the table, making his confection wobble on its plate. "Damn! Quests can take a long time. By the time you are back, I probably won't have a use for the cherries. You best go armed, it's not a proper quest if there are no monsters to fight."

Chapter 16 – Auctions and actions

She sat up like a frightened kid, looking absolutely terrified, and I saw that gasping fish movement once more. Shock? Terror? Either way, she found her own voice, but only just.

A week had passed and my online classes had started, so I spent bit more time glued to the computer, Carla was bit more at ease now because she knew I would go out from time to time, either by myself or with Leah, she was really happy to see that Leah and I had become so close to each other.

Chapter 42: 352-353 CE: Frolicking on the Rhine

The Alemanni leadership were waiting in the ruins of the city of Argentorate {PD Strasbourg}. Delegates were sent out to the caravan asking for a parley. Raben agreed telling his people to set up camp for the night. Then he, 3 tigers and 30 wolves headed into the invader’s parley camp as 3 eagles and over 300 ravens circled overhead. That Raben went to the parley without any men told the Alemanni he had absolutely no fear of them.

For the first few moments the quite imposing Chnodamar tried to stare down the physically unimposing Raben. Accustomed to being dominant, the fact Raben met him stare to stare started to get under his skin. Then without breaking eye contact, Raben began to smirk. Suddenly the tigers let out simultaneous almost deafening deep throated roars that quite literally rattled the unprepared listeners bones while making their chests quiver. Much to his disgust, Chnodamar found himself blinking and taking a step back.

Chapter 15 – The accident

Darryl and Grey worked for several hours making their feast. It was to be a two parter: first a lunch, and then a dinner. Daisy supervised, since no one else was in the house and Rabbit insisted on being in the kitchen with the boys.

“I have to do this darling. It is really who I am,” I said as I pleaded with my wife.

I was dressed in a way that she’d not seen before. I was wearing a dress, makeup and all the rest including my first pair of high heels!

“Don’t give me that rubbish. These past few years it has all been about you. I don’t get a look in.”

“Really? I don’t think so.”

“Now you are just grasping at straws. If you think that I’m going to sit here while you go out all dolled up like a dogs breakfast then you have to think again. After all the things I do and have done for you…”

Tonya shivers as a cold breeze blows by her. She was standing out on the balcony looking out towards the woods that surrounded the log cabin home. She places her petite hand on her swollen belly as she feels the babies she was carrying move.

She never thought her life would take her down this path. She never thought she would be able to have babies or that she would be the breeder of a pride of cats. She winces as one of the babies she was carrying kicks her kidney.

“Ow!” Tonya rubs the spot where she just got kicked.

As the school year went on. I got to know Greg. He was smart, funny, and great looking to boot. Marsha and Mindy where so green with envy it wasn't funny. While he did talk to them. Greg seemed to focus on me. Every time I would be around Greg I had this weird fuzzy feeling. I would get grilled after class.
“ Has he asked you out yet. Is he taking you to the dance after the game.” the same thing over and over again.
Just before the Home coming game with Farmington South.

“ Ah, Amber. Would you go to the homecoming dance with me on Friday.”

The visitors settle into a sort of routine after the recent shocks and disasters

“What about Deb?”

Paula laughed, but it was strained.

“Oh, she’ll be fine. They’ll take her back to the club. Proper bunkhouse and stuff there. One of them will see her home tomorrow. I think Rosie and her have a lot of catching up to do”
