Once they were done eating Lisa led Marcy straight out of the mall back to her car which by now was packed full of new clothes for her, girly clothes she didn’t want in the slightest. Still they were a lot better than if she had to show up in public in the outfits she got from CC’s.

There was no doubt about what he was looking at. Live on Wade Ransby’s phone, a video call from Rachel, a video showing Chloe’s dead body, naked and only wrapped in a bathrobe, lying in a shallow grave. Rachel was holding a shovel, her face wild with fury.

“The bitch is dead, and everybody is going to think that you did it,” she shouted. “Because no crime is perfect you will be caught. I will make sure of it.”

When my niece Madeline came to me, and asked me to share with her any paranormal or supernatural encounter I might have. I will freely admit at first I was hesitant, but then I decided to go ahead and share one my most frightening encounters. First allow me to introduce myself to you, the general reader. My name is Percival Alexandra Bell, or Percy for short. I'm an Episcopal Priest and current rector of St. Mary's Episcopal Church here in Benton. I was the second son of John William Bell and Joanna Maria Bell.

CHAPTER 37
I watched Cathy carefully for a few weeks after that incident, her comments about the need for control still fresh in my mind, but for once it was Nell who stepped up to the mark, engaging her attention with almost obsessively detailed queries about UCCA or whatever it was called, as she planned both girls’ future university careers.

It took my mind off my worries for the two, which allowed me to steer Maisie into the same A-level college Nell and Cathy would leave the following Summer, and that in turn gave them someone else to look after.

When I was young and innocent, I believed in Santa with all my heart.
He was good to me.

When I became older and not so innocent, I decided he didn't exist.
And yet he was still good to me.

And when I became a parent with little innocent ones of my own I realized
I was Santa, and life is good.
