This is set in a Superhero universe, much like Marvel or DC characters would find themselves in, I just made my own and borrowed concepts heavily.

Congratulations.” He paused for a moment, then added, “Oh, and my condolences.”

Allowing my face to reflect sorrow, I say nothing to contradict him, nor do I mention Mom’s or Janet’s potential support of my possible future family.
