Days and Nights on Old Haven Road-3

Patchworks….

Ryan thought it was a good a name as any for the place Becky had bought. After they had gotten together things just sort of gelled for them in their relationship. And since he had all the things they both needed or likely ever would need at his house Becky had moved in with him.

It had turned out to be a great not perfect but it was great…they had their moments despite starting the way that she did Becky was all girl and sometimes she’d have her moments.

Sometimes he’d just be a guy and be a bit messy and she’d complain. Sometimes she’d get emotional and he couldn’t get why. And they were still learning about each other. Just getting to communicate was new to both of them. The trip to Canada hade helped but Becky was more than used to holding things in and keeping stuff to herself and Ryan was the same hurt and hardened by some of the things that he had seen.

But they did love each other…

My favorite TG Christmas story...

Christopher Leeson's Noel isn't exactly a traditional Christmas story. And yet, in many ways, it is the perfect Christmas story, being about redemption. It's also one of the stories that convinced me that the net was a wonderful place to discover and display actual well-written fiction and so led almost directly to the founding of BigCloset as a site for displaying and discovering TG fiction.

"Well girl, they'll be here any minute," I said to my cat Cleopatra, who sat lazily between presents under my modest tree.

I walked into the kitchen, checked the oven.

Wishing you a wonderful day tomorrow

Do you remember me? I sat upon your knee. I wrote to you with childhood fantasies.

Well, I'm all grown-up now. Can you still help somehow? I'm not a child, but my heart still can dream.

So here's my lifelong wish - my grown-up christmas list: not for myself but for a world in need.

No more lives torn apart, and wars would never start, and time would heal all hearts, and everyone would have a friend, and right would always win, and love would never end.

This is my grown-up christmas list. This is my only lifelong wish. This is my grown-up christmas list.

On this, the eve before the big day, I felt it good to remind others of my religion, Chocolatarian. Remember, this religion can smoothly blend in with other chewy religions. Sometimes it provides us with a tasteful blend of guilt and joy, other times it ends up like that chocolate....you know the stuff. The stuff you give to five year olds because it tastes so nasty. This religion blends with them all. Even ones with caramel and coconut. On this, the eve of the day of the fat chocolate giving man, we must all remember to be good to each other.

Merry Christmas - four years later!

First, let me just say a very happy holiday season to everyone! I know it's been quite awhile since I've posted. It's been a rough year for me, between finishing up dental surgery, dealing with a cyber-stalker, and most recently the CT school tragedy. But I'm not posting this to complain about the bad.

Bikini Beach: A Visit from St. Nick

While waiting for the annual visit from Santa, Anya witnesses a near-accident with the old man and his sleigh. Only quick magic can prevent a disaster — but with what consequences?

**********************************************************************

Special Dedication:
Grandmother and I would like to thank Elrod for his efforts at bringing our stories to life. We've used a bit of magic to help inspire his tales of our special park and people. We know things haven't gone well for him this past year. Perhaps a bit of Christmas magic will help restore his happy spirits and free his wonderful creative imagination to continue writing (and hopefully more of our tales!)

Merry Christmas to all!

*************************************************************************

Note from Elrod: One morning near Christmas, years ago, I found this story on my computer. I claimed to the group that I didn't remember writing it - naturally, no-one believed me. Was it Anya and Grandmother channeling their magic through my computer, or through sleep-writing, as a gift to me and the group? All I know is that I believe in Christmas magic, then and now. Merry Christmas, Happy Hannakuh, and Seasons Greetings!

Had the family over for Christmas dinner last night

Blog About:

Well, last night, we had our Christmas dinner, and it was wonderful. There was a moment, when my daughter was on one side of me, my mom on the other, my brother and sister behind, and the dog in front, and I realized just how blessed I am, that here I was, literally surrounded by love, even in the midst of my transition which gives my family fits.

Once upon a time, I created a character named Fluke and described her as "the luckiest woman alive" but I think that title really belongs to me instead.

Simply put, because it is bogus. It's exactly like criticizing a story for having a sex change in it. "Fresh Start" stories appeal to some people but not to all, so it is appropriate to decide that if a story has an theme or element that you do not enjoy, then you weren't the target audience for the story.

Grover's Christmas Stories

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas for everyone who wants it! This is just a friendly note letting everyone know I'm still more or less active, but like so many having a bit of trouble. Personal issues along with yet another computer going belly up on me has sapped my creative energies. Fortunately I managed to save most of my work, I think/hope!, but the odds of me finishing either one of the two Christmas Contest stories I'm working on are getting rather long.

I will try, but no promises.

Maggie was at the stove, not really paying attention to the pork chops in the frying pan, even though she was looking right at them. It was when her mother put on an oven mitt and grabbed the frying pan and moved it to a free burner, that she realized something had happened. “Hey, I was watching those.”

“Watch them do what? Burn?” Bernice asked and Maggie blushed when she saw she had burned the chops. Vance was in the kitchen as well, opening up the windows to clear the smoke out. In the living-room, her father was opening up a couple of windows, despite the cold weather. William was walking into the kitchen with a fan. He placed it in a window so it sucked the smoke out the window by the table.
