As Jacqueline walked down to one of the surface transports, people turned to stare at her, not recognizing her appearance.

As she approached the transport bay, one of the male researchers dropped his binder and stared. "Jack! Is that you?"

She turned, "Yes. We've likely found a cure, exciting isn't it?"

"I-indeed!" the researcher scrambled to pick up his binder.

“Erika, it’s time to get up.” She heard her mother’s voice over the rumble of a semi passing by on the freeway.

Lee-Anne strolled along the beach, following the line of canoes set there for the race that would be starting in a little while. She was thinking about her summers at this camp, her first time being the summer that she was thirteen, then the last three years, including this summer; she felt a slight sense of regret that she had not been here three years ago, but her need to be herself was far more important at that time. Most of her camp experiences here had been quite enjoyable, and it was often a place that Lee-Anne could relax and let go of all the stress.

Chapter Twenty-Three: Mopping Up

The next day, there were some changes in the lunch room. It may be merely symbolic, but it served to consolidate our efforts to wipe out the prideful elitist attitudes that had poisoned so many of us. When the few pures who stubbornly clung to their beliefs came to sit down, they found that the former pures table was occupied not only by their former cronies, but by everyone from the 'sane but not normal' table. We were also joined by some of the people who had changed over the weekend. When they found that they were outnumbered, they slunk off to the former misfit corner.

Things were getting out of control. Jared could see it. The coach could see it. The 1400 souls inside Longwood’ High School’s gym could see it. The five young men on the floor couldn’t, however, and that was all that mattered.

Athens 38, Longwood 16. Athens 40, Longwood 16. Athens 43, Longwood 16. The outcome of the game was never really in doubt, as Athens had played for the state title the year before. But this was absurd. Athens 45, Longwood 16.

I try not to laugh when I see a guy in something feminine, and it’s just so obvious. I mean how could anyone really think that they can go through life with such an obvious schism. There were others, I guess ‘they’ were the lucky ones, that were ‘passable.'

Here is the next part of Seanna's adventures as she slowly watches her life change in ways she had never dreamed possible.

Most of the cautions given here refer to events that happened to Asemba before Seanna rescued her. The violence one also indirectly refers to Leilani, who witnessed the brutal beating of her mother a few days earlier, followed by her mother's death the next day.
