Ellie, in a cloud of cigarette smoke on the next stool, saying she wore mens' suits and ties at work. I probably had a straight line down the side of my face, or the indentation of the back of my hand on my cheek. I bent down with difficulty and retrieved the mouse from the floor, its fall had probably woken me up.
