It is a strange story, but like many such stories, its effects changed lives. There are two essential characters in this story. I will call one of them Kevin, and one of them Polly. The third character in this story is 456 Masefield Road, one of those grand old homes in the small but once wealthy town of Hambleton, sadly well beyond an easy commute to the city.

Dr. Jason Nesbit has been tasked with finding a cure to TG-003. Will he succeed, or join the horde of unmen?

Disclaimer: I was hoping to do another Werewench story for Halloween this year but work has kept me too busy. So, instead, I wrote this short that was inspired by Dot and Jaci's actions. Be warned: This was written while I was sleep-deprived and not thinking clearly so the humor and stuff may be a little weird.

This Halloween - A Short Poem

This Halloween
By Barbara Lynn Terry

The witches sabbat is this Halloween
It behooves us to be seen
In our favorite scary garb
To keep the ghosts and goblins and witches at bay
Also, the werewolves, monsters and vampires
Lest they devour us little by little.
So, on this Halloween day,
Let us aspire
Not to perspire
Lest we be found out
That we are not a ghost, goblin, monster, vampire or witch
While we are out and about.

Nowhere To Go... But Here

Chapter 11

What would you do, if you had no clue what was going on, but had to figure it all out on your own?

Masks Chapter 43

*Before...

I’m like… “Guys…boo, I’m not a guy.”

And she’s like…. “I know. It’s like just a figure of speech y’know.”

Mary Jane snerks… “Like y’know…totally just a saying.”

We all burst out laughing and giggling and we sort of kick our legs and shout. “Toa..tal..ly!”

Then we hear Becky’s dad. “What the fuck was that?”

Not like angry like but like he’s got no clue.

And we were silent for a second before we all burst out laughing.

It was such this whole cool space of time because the lights, the three of us, this whole tight girls together thing and it’s us so close together and holding hands and just being three girls.

And it feels good.

It feels weightless.

Chapter 41

*Before…

I look at her. “We can come with.”

She looks nervous. “You guys don’t have to.”

I look at her and slip over and give her a hug. “Hey it’ll be okay it’ll give everyone two targets instead of like one.”

Mary Jane says. “Three, safety in numbers from the whole parental scrutiny thing, cause that happens when they start talking.”

She bites her lip and she nods. “Okay.”

I smile my own little shaky smile. “Besides I kinda gotta go, I want to kind of have people like actually meet me before Halloween.”

“What’s going on with Halloween?”

“Uhm…I’m coming out.”

Okay Becky’s jaw drop was worth it.

The Baby Bump

“Don’t do it Melanie, you’ll hurt the boy’s feelings.” I’m embarrassed, I know she’s right. The jerk bites Sara’s hook and we have a last game. I’m pissed as a nail breaks but I win easy enough. Sara wins a dollar and we leave quickly.
I’m expecting to leave, but Kathy and Sara have other plans. We’re quickly at L.A. Women’s World. Sixty dollars for cheerleading shoes …Kathy follows us back to Marti has us do a cheer and gets it on her smart phone, not good.

Halloween Promise

The Halloween Promise

By Teek

© October 2011

Summary: Mrs. Evans promised her son Jimmy he could be the same thing this year for Halloween that he has been for the last five years. This does not prevent her from trying to change his mind. After all, at four it was cute, but now at nine!

There is a WHAT up there?

This is a true halloween story that happened to me and my family the first halloween after we arrived in England in 1953.
We were living in Cambridge, in a house that had been built in 1863, per the date etched into a stone, above the front door on the second floor. The house was a three story house, and did indeed look old.

Too 'sweet' for Halloween? *grin*

So I just finished the rough draft on a Halloween-themed story. Like Becoming Robin this is seated very much in the Sweet / Sentimental category. Unlike Robin this isn't a novel-going-on-serial :-P

It's an actual, real-live short story, from me, the Queen of babbling endlessly. Can you believe it? ^_^

The Snow White that wasn't

Did I see the dress as a threat to my legacy, an insult to generations of men who fought wars and presided over propane grills? No, I honestly don't believe that a 4-year-old's Halloween costume has the power to cement his sexual identity for life. I was not threatened by fears of a same-sex, vegan wedding ceremony or a rejection of power tools and the Super Bowl. A far more immediate evil loomed in my magic mirror: children who mock other children.

Catch Her

Catch Her

by Laurie S. aka l.satori

Novelist J.D. Salinger passed away on January 27, 2010. This tale has a few minor similarities to J.D. Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye. To tell you the truth, Salinger's novel is absolutely terrific, way better than the story I made up. So maybe you might want to read Salinger's book because Holden Caulfield is an extremely funny character. Catch Her was first posted in the summer of 2003.

In my head I heard Mrs. Legno's voice: "The day after Halloween you're just going to put your pants back on and go play football?"

and my reply: Not exactly, but something like that.

Sissy Destroyed -- Part 12

Sissy Destroyed — Part 12

By Maid Joy

The party was great. Halloween was my favorite time because you could be whomever you wanted to be, your wildest fantasy come true. The humblest, most repressed person could step out as the most bizarre, most brazen, most outrageous creature they could imagine without fear of persecution.

I knew enough now that I passed easily as a woman. Things might have been different several months ago, but not now.

I don't know how those little stories strike you, but... as I listened... at first I felt like a fish out of water. My first impulse was to laugh or to mock, but I was the only one. Everyone else in the room took each story as it was: a candid offering. I'm not saying they were all good; they weren't. But they were all sincere, without guile.

"I'm sorry we didn't talk to you first, Victor, but we had to make a quick decision. Your father didn't have his car, and there wasn't any point in taking you. You would have had to hang around the hospital, and you wouldn't have had time to change."

"Oh," I said, seeing myself sitting in a hospital hallway, dressed as Tinkerbell, complete with wings and wand.

"I'm sorry I missed it," he went on, "but I figured it was just going to be a kids' party, you know? I should have thought... I should have known that Tatum here would carry destruction in her wake."

"My name is Juliette," I corrected. Not that it mattered, because Robert's father just went on talking.
