Come With Me
Ashleigh's Song

A musical interlude based on the composition, "Love Theme from Spartacus," by Alex North

Do you know what I know
Can’t you see the love within you
Do you hear what I hear
When you heart cries out to me

Do you see what I see
When your eyes just smile at me
Do you know that I know
Just how much we will grow

You feel lost and ashamed
As if feeling still unnamed

Come at last and look past
To the love I have for you…
My dear one…love’s begun
As we walk along together

Come my love hold my hand
Here we are here I stand
Come my love come to me
Come my love come to me
Come to me

Come my love hear my heart
Now we’re one we won’t part
Come my love come with me
Come my love come with me
Come with me

Lovely verse. Truly meaningful for all who love someone.

P.S. I just noticed where the melody came from, and am listening to it as I write this. I never knew that there was a "Love Theme" in Sparatcus. Thanks for teaching me something new.

Now will eveyone reading your story your poem stand up and say "I am Spartacus", as his followers did at the end of the movie.

Thank you Andrea

For this wonderful poem. It was a great read for me on a Sunday morning (though it would be a great read on any morning, or at any time of day).

I'm having trouble getting the Spartacus music out of my head though; I definitely hear it with your lines 'come my love ....come to me...'

Almost more of a song

I can sing your words to the song! I didn't know there was a love theme to this movie either. Too busy watching the action although I do remember several years ago when the deleted scene with Tony Curtis was released. It'd been cut because of the gay overtones.

Beautiful poem.
