Twelfth Anniversary Edition of Winter Whimsey,
with additional illustrations and verse,
dedicated to the memory of Alison Mary Murdoch

Dressed_1_0.jpg

She dried her eyes and they did smile
To see her cheeks had ever shined
Her love was corseted all the while
That organ throbbed e’er thus confined

With that sweet look and lively song
And bright cami shining all the day
They guessed not her person all along
How her maleness was yet stored away

Autumn (1)_1_0.jpg

To moonlight, Autumn moonlight,
All soft and still and sweet;
It hides more than it reveals
like a gaff it can’t be beat

But most where girls are bending
Their confined part erect
Or hidden not extending
though mistress might inspect.

And there in those lovely clothes
A lovely form is dressed
Chemise and silken hose
Her maleness ne’er confessed

Transformation_0_0.jpg

Me thinks dear, thou should rest awhile
So softly yet the pain purloins
The summer moon displays a smile
While dressing veils thy sutured loins

I have sat nervous all the day
Watching the lazy chronos stir
Delighting yet thy transformation
As thou hast changed from him to her

And I have e’er enjoyed thy face
As I observe thy gracious chest
To what measure I might lace
That absolutely gorgeous breast

Yet our lives passed in wondrous joy
And hope will banish fear
And that while thou art now a girl
Thou art my girl, my dear!

Fingersmith_1_0.jpg

Truth be told, I must confess
I do not despise my attire
I've never, ever worn a dress
tho it sets my heart afire

So now, upon review
my opinion thou hast beckoned
You are fairest; thou art first
but I place a very close second...

All verse is based loosely upon cadence, style, and wording of 19th Century romantic poetry.

Illustrations from motion picture publicity still photos from Fingersmith, Portrait of a Lady on Fire, The Secret Diaries of Miss Anne Lister, Carmilla, and Collette

Dear Alison Mary

joannebarbarella's picture

Such a pity she is gone from us. She was a sweet lady and I'm sure she would be delighted to have this lovely little vignette dedicated to her memory.

What a beautiful thought, 'Drea.
