Presenting a hitherto undiscovered Episode from the series Space 1999; filmed but never aired for the cancelled third season
Moonbase Alpha; somewhere in the vast reaches of space millions of light years away from Earth…
“What the f…..” Tony Verdesci said as he climbed off the floor.
“Did we just go through another cosmic cloud of spacedust?” His expression quickly turned from surprised to outright panic.
“MY…my voice…what…why do I sound like a teenage girl.”
“More importantly, Tony? Why do you look like a teenage girl,” Maya said. She stared at Tony only a bit in amazement with just a wee bit of attraction.
“WHAT????” Another sylph-like remark came from Maya’s right. Alan Carter was looking at his reflection in a picture frame. After a bit of apprehension, the new girl began to calm down.
“It would seem the cloud affected just the males,” Dr. Russell said calmly; as if gender transmutation was something akin to getting served tea instead of coffee at the Base Commissary.
“Not so fast, Doctor,” Victor Bergman said as he produced a mirror. Folks were so surprised about how quickly he… she produced the mirror that no one thought to ask where he had been for over a year.
“Here…take a gander, she said ironically. Helena looked in the mirror and discovered she too looked exactly like a fifteen-year-old waiting for her date.
“I’m…I’m…”
“You are very pretty!” John Koenig said. Rather, Joan Koenigen said as she came along side Dr. Russell.
“What about us,” three newly transformed girls cried. Bishop, Spencer, and Rosario; the once male heartthrobs for the women on the base had just joined the ranks of the fairer sex…gender… whatever the description was.
“I… I can’t be a girl….I just can’t,” a very distraught-looking young lady sobbed.
“Caryn from Accounting and I…We were…Oh fu….”
“But Dana…. It’s okay…you know…” Caryn walked quickly to her fiancé… fiancée.
“Besides…I think you're kinda cute!” She gently took Dana by the arm and walked her back to her office.
“What… What are we going to do about this?” Tony…Antoinette Verdeschi cried in frustration. Maya walked over and kissed her.
“We are going to find a bottle of wine and celebrate.”
“Sounds like a plan,” Helena said as she pulled Joan into a kiss all their own.
“Uh… Something seems odd…like someone orchestrated this whole thing.” Victoria Bergman went to stroke a now non-existent beard.
“Hey…wait a minute…. What the…. Has anybody seen... Somebody find that woman from the research lab. What’s her name? Halverson? Harrelson? Helvetica?”
Alaina Carter shook her head and said slowly,
“You mean Halfelven?”
The former Paul...now Paula Morrow nodded reflexively while several persons of the newly youthful female variety said all at once,
“Yeah….SHE’S the one!
And with that, Systems' Specialist Altaira DiMaggio turned, smiled, and said calmly,
"Goddess bless us...Everyone!"
Here's looking back over fifty years at a program that speculated how life would be like the year this place became part of our reality. Thank you Erin!

I remember that show!
cute take, Drea. Huggles!
I was fairly young, back then.
The creature in 'Dragon's Domain' actually scared me. Kind of embarrassing now that I saw the episode recently.
Watch This Space!
Where oh where are those cosmic clouds of space dust when you really need one? Just a smidgen, please!
When this show was on air I was living in Mackay, Queensland, and we only had two channels, so I missed it all.
Cute!
I only watched the first episode, I think. But the premise of the show always reminds me of what we all imagined things would be like, at the end of the twentieth century, back when we were kids and the space race was at its zenith. Colonies on the moon. Travel to the planets. Instead, we got “social media.”
Beautiful visuals, as always!
