Lynn Rachel Redgrave, OBE
March 8 1943 to May 2 2010
Hey there, Georgie boy... You're always fiction writing, Hey there, Georgie boy... Don't be so scared of living, Hey there, Georgie boy... Hey there, Georgie boy... Don't be so scared of living, Hey there, Georgie boy...
Blogging on the web so fancy-free;
No one can ever see
The heartbreak inside you there.
Why do you let life pass you by;
could it be your fear to try
on all of those clothes you'd wear?
but still you're fighting your heart.
Come now and make yourself a new start;
a brand new start!
There's another Georgie deep inside.
Bring out all the girl you hide and
Oh what a change there'd be;
The world would see a new Georgie girl!
and not forgiving yourself;
it's time your wife learned about Top Shelf!
(another self)
Dreamin' of the woman you could be.
Life is so much better,
you can't always hide away!
hoping that the girl inside will be
finally set free
because it's a brand new day!
and not forgiving yourself.
It's time you told her you write at Top Shelf
(your other self)
There's another Georgie deep inside
Bring out all the girl you hide and
Oh, what a change there'd be;
The world would see a new Georgie girl!

Hi 'Drea, A very nice
Hi 'Drea, A very nice tribute to a very nice person. Altho she could and would take many stances on issues that upset some people; she was a force to be reckoned with when it came to motion pictures. She will definitely be missed. Hugs, Jan

Classy, Drea
It was sweet of you to do this. Lynn Redgrave was a class act. Her role in Georgie Girl and the song by the seekers spoke to me at a time when I was having a hard time breaking out of the mold. Thanks for reviving those memories.

Miss Redgrave,
ALISON
'a real lady and a real star.Thank you 'Drea.
ALISON
Drea...darling...
Sorry Alison...I am simply jockeying for a better position and I can think of nobody I'd rather follow. :)
Nobody does this kind of thing better than you! Just as there will never be another Lynn, there certainly won't be another like you who can speak so eloquently for the rest of us.

This is great Drea :-).
There are so many still in that stupid proverbial closet and are scared to come out. If only they would get up the courage to come out and be that new Georgie Girl that everybody needs to see and know. Thank you for sharing because there is a definite message here. And thank you for this tribute to a great star and a beautiful lady.

I hope that your song can help those who need courage to find the strength to come out of the closet.
May Your Light Forever Shine
May Your Light Forever Shine
Maybe so?
It might, but it's just a song, and I don't even have the strength to do what you say the song will help. The real courage comes from those here who have been strong already in facing their fears and coming out to their family and friends. They deserve all the credit.
I've never really liked that term "closet," since it almost connotates a game of hide-and-seek, rather than a refuge from persecution and misunderstanding, neither of which I've had the pain of experiencing. My admiration for those who have dared the fallout and the pain of rejection. Happily, some have found acceptance, but not all, and that is such a tragedy which cannot be mitigated by song written in tribute to another. Thanks anyway.
She was born for all the wrong reasons but grew up for all the right ones.

Makes Me Feel My Age!
Lynn Redgrave dead! It can't be! She was younger than me. Life is so unfair, but she left all of us who were young in the fifties and sixties (so last century!) feeling better about ourselves with that movie, and The Seekers too. Judy is still going at least.
Well done again, 'Drea,
Joanne
lovely words, lovely lady, for a lovely lady's memory!
Superb! xx
