I am sure that you are aware that we live in a complicated world, and such a world demands specialization. People can buy their kicks anywhere they choose. There are so many outlets that might be called the erotic equivalent of McDonalds, serving the insipid fare enjoyed by ordinary folk. Go there, if you wish.
In this chapter, Emily grapples with overwhelming grief. Struggling with guilt and memories, she begins to navigate the weight of loss with the gentle support of the Blake family. Small moments of kindness, like Lily's cheerful drawings and Mrs. Blake's quiet presence, offer Emily a fragile sense of comfort and hope as she starts to confront her pain.
When we left Billie and Kateri, they were the victims of a home invasion. The
story picks up from there.
I am going to put this particular story on hold for a little while, but Billie and Kateri
will be back fairly soon. Thank you, again for your support! ~Clara.
Now that I had finally decided not to stand for re-election in November, I got to thinking about other things but primarily Kelly, getting married and then what?
The ‘then what’ part was easy. A big grand-canyon shaped abyss. I had no firm idea what I was going to do once I was no longer Sheriff. My fall back was to work with Danny SWA. He was always advertising for rescue drivers so there was a job for me if I wanted it but something inside of me was telling me that something else would come up when the time came.
Linda Coville went to her closet. The 18-year-old girl wanted to make sure her turquoise ribbon party dress was ready for her big date on Saturday night. Even with the big night out being two days away Linda wanted to make sure her outfit was ready to be worn. What good was it to have a dress that was elegant, modest, and fun if it was dirty when wanted. The dress had the look she was going for that night. That was the perfect look for where her man, Sam Gracia was taking her, the end of school awards banquet.
For a small southern town, Benton puts on an amazing number of seasonal celebrations. One of those is the “The Fireman's Summer Fair”. The purpose of the fair is to raise money for our local volunteer fire departments. Benton has three I believe. Our town is really too small to have standing fire fighting force so we depend on local volunteers. In order to raise money, a number of local programs are put on, local youth's display talent shows, each of the three fire stations take turns selling hot plates, anything from smoked chicken to fresh fried fish, even tacos and tamales.
The next two weeks the band does four gigs and head home. Even Lisa was worn out from the pace they had been keeping. She had to buy a new box of drum sticks from a music store after their third gig. One of her sticks had split right in half while she was performing. Luckily for her she had a spare on hand.
She looks over towards Lindsey and notices she was sound asleep on the sofa across from her. Kaja was sitting at the small table with her laptop opened working on inventory and sales. Jamie and Cindy were in the back of the bus asleep.
For 35yrs the border between the Human Empire and Gorgonzola Empire as remained mostly peaceful. The citizens for the Human Empire of this border region are loyal to the last man, woman, and child to the Empire. It was on one of these worlds that gave birth to a legend. The world of Apollo 6 is one of the harshest worlds within the Empire. One so harsh that only it could claim to be the birth world of James J. Owens, the most feared of Death Dealers. A world that is even now poised to give birth to a new legendary warrior. One who shall be baptized in the blood of the Empire’s enemies. Robert Wolff youngest great grandchild of James Owens’ sister Cecilia Owens.
CHAPTER 62
I ended up in a daze for weeks after the wake, in an odd way. I functioned at work, with no distraction or concentration issues when driving, and I apparently managed to act human when at home, but all the time I was chatting about school and college, trips to the hills or to the far West, I was asking the same questions of myself, over and over again.
Is this worth it? How am I making any difference, doing anything useful, when a girl goes up a chimney as soon as she finds her family again? I found myself planning ahead one evening, working out when the last of my brood would finally hit eighteen, and I could pull myself back into my shell. I went all the way through January and into February assigning a departure date to each girl, as Heidi kept away and Paul kept his counsel limited to an occasional prod to take the urn out to Splott or other places of need.
“You know the expression ‘Men are from Mars and women are from Venus’, well it’s only partly true, it’s not just different planets it is sometimes a different galaxy."
After we had kissed the guys goodnight we walked back to the apartment. Kelly was very quiet and went straight into the toilet when we let ourselves in. When she came out she remarked that it had been fun getting screwed standing up but the juices tended to run down her leg as we walked home.
Friday evening we gathered in Tavleens’ rooms and fitted Balnoor with the right outfit. We had him put on a bra which had seed-filled stockings put into the cups and when he put the burqa on he didn’t look pregnant like he had before.
My
name is Rose. I’m about five foot eight, and I’ve got
light red hair; pretty close to strawberry blonde. All in all, I'm a pretty normal woman.
I
was at the SWEET (South
Western Exposition for the Embetterment of Transpeople) conventionalong
with eleven other women named Rose. Each of us had given a nickname
so that we could be distinguished between each other. One of the
women was dressed like a cowgirl, or at least someone from the
country, and seemed very reluctant to say anything. When she insisted
she be called Jeff, I figured whatever was eating her must have a
terrible case of indigestion. I figured she wanted to be left alone,
and was chatting with a woman sitting beside me, when one of the
women suggested that we all give our stories of how we came to be
called Rose.
“Mom, me and Catlin want to get married before we start our careers. I know you are going to be using Catlin in whatever fight you and uncle Bounty are involved in.” Krisha looks at her mother and watches her facial expression.
“You do know that my enemies and whatever enemies Catlin make will either come after you or try to use you as bait. Are you two sure about this?” Cheshire didn’t want anything to happen to her daughter or Catlin.
"Lucius told me that he found you and Draco dueling. I hope he didn't goad you into anything." We had finished lunch and were on the veranda having tea. Draco was back on the Quidditch pitch with his dad dodging bludgers or some such.
"Not at all. Honestly, when he told me that we could use magic here I was more than excited to duel again."
"That's right, you're in the dueling club, aren't you? Quite an achievement for a first year."
When Caleb's sister offers to get him and Jess an opportunity to play-test a new Virtual Reality MMORPG, Caleb's vacation just may change his life and the lives of those close to him forever.
Now that Mahair had answered most of my pressing questions I turned to Narek with a serious expression. “Get talking. Why the hell am I your daughter?”
"Okay, time to hit the gym, big boy," Abby says, suddenly getting up to her feet from the couch.
"Can we skip this tonight?" I ask without much faith I'll get the answer I want.
"No, don't be lazy it's only the second day. Get up, I got you something." Abby sashays to our table, where she set down the bag she got from the mall. Abby pulls out a black garment, and tosses it in my direction.
Hatter and Shade meet up with Terry at the coordinates several hours later. The ramp on the back of Rhino opens and they pull inside. Once they were loaded, Terry starts heading towards a property that Bart’s company owns. There was supposed to be a transport waiting for them there to take them back to New York.
Shade looks over towards Hatter, after securing his motorcycle “did you have some fun?”
Hatter had a big ole smile on her face, as she lifts her helmet off. She looks over towards Shade “oh yes! I even took pictures.” She hands the camera she used to Shade.
Mr Jenkins, or would you prefer that we call you Daniel, to be honest you are the only male applicant we have had for this vacancy as a PA, why do you think that it is an appropriate position for you.”
The girls were dropped off later in the evening. They told us that they had been charged with affray but let off with a caution as everyone else had only shouted and waved signs. They said that the police were very interested in the ‘maiden from hell’ who dropped the politician but they said that some of the women police only wanted to bring her in to put a medal on her.
The continuing adventures of Doug Gordon, Queen of Ka'an. (Ka'an in Mayan means Heaven.) Ka'an is actually an alien world populated by women... and a man-eating plant. Well, it is actually male-eating plants that spit out females. Doug and his wives fixed everything, but now Doug must remake a planet... and it seems Ka'an will be remade in his image!
Faced with the need to pick a thesis topic, amid the turbulent sixties, Gerald looks to solve the mysteries of the female gender by disguising himself as one of them. In a world faced with the assassination of Martin Luther King and the Southeast Asia Conflict, can a man successfully pretend to be a college co-ed and discover the secrets of how women think? Gerald has read all the pertinent sociology textbooks and has a list of questions he will seek to answer, but is he asking the right questions? And, once he understands women, what decisions will he make about himself?
Yet more drama ensues as Cathy goes about her everyday life.
While she manages to avoid unwanted attentions at the university and narrowly escapes a dangerous driver, she is not so fortunate when it comes to an attacker who has a grudge against cyclists.
Jessie Hanks is on the run from Eerie after the death of Toby Hess, but, as she discovers, there's some things a boy-turned-gal can't escape from. Most of all, from herself.
