I'm going to use this as a place to discuss search, how to use it and what people want to use it for.
A few things:
When you use multiple words in a search, the default is to perform an OR search. Searching for curly perm will turn up both curly and perm and will list first results that have both terms.
Searches are case insensitive. Perm, perm and PERM are all the same.
Searches are made for roots, so perm, perms, permed and perming are all the same. But permanent is a different word.
A plus symbol in front of a word in a search means that word is required so curly +perm will return only results that have some form of perm in them and will prefer ones that have curly, also. +curly +perm results must have both words though not necessarily next to each other.
A minus sign means do not include the following word in results so perm -curly would return results that matched perm but would not include ones that also had curly.
Quotes around a phrase will search for an exact match, but will still ignore case. "curly perm" will match Curly perm and lots of variations but both words in that order must be present.
Comments are regarded by search as part of the post.
The sidebars allow you to restrict searches to posts that match various criteria, like type of post, audience rating or authorship. At the top right is a sidebar that allows you to control how the search indexer orders results.
When we upgrade to Drupal 7, this will all change a bit but not drastically.
You can use this thread to ask questions and make comments about search.
I suppose that I should have expected that my first day in the CID office in Loughborough Police Station would follow my previous days through school, university, and the Police College.

Introduction:
Hello, I'm Cerridwen Circe Whitethorn, I'm seventeen and I'm a Junior at Benton Academy. I'm also an Adventure Scout and I've been one since I turned fourteen. The slim pamphlet you're holding in your hand right now as you read these words is the product of four months of investigative journalism and paranormal research.

She stayed in Japan after the breakup of her first J-Pop band, Texas Belles. The other American members went their own ways, some of them back to the states.

Alex's rejection of Sharon, her friends and her controlling ways, led him to meet Jocelyn, a girl from his school, who invites his alter ego to a birthday party, but Alex has no idea how he can get to go...
Thanks Kris, you came through yet again.
Disclaimer:
Any similarity to persons living or dead would shock the hell out of me. I think parents can sometimes surprise you. Mine? Well that's another story altogether...
"Listen up, people. First the spinal cord, will be replace with a reinforced version. We will be doing a full internal replacement at the same time. What I mean; heart, lungs, both kidneys, liver, intestines, and spleen. Yes this is the works. Ribcage will be replace, same as before."
"Sir, will we be able to implement the my personal project?"
This is about what happens when you meet that special someone that takes you higher than you ever dreamed
to be possible. But sometimes, when we fly higher than we should, we might burn our wings...
"There were so many new feelings and emotions descending upon me that I wanted to explore. Some old in a new dress, some long forgotten and some completely new. I wanted to take them in, feel them with all my senses in tune. I wanted to be with him! Nothing held us at this place anymore."

Part 3
CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN
Before a performance on the Civic Holiday weekend, the first Monday in August, Heather handed me a tabloid newspaper. On the front cover was a picture of Marilyn Monroe.
"You've made the big time," Heather said with a smile. "You're on the front page of the Star Enquirer."
Christina lay in bed on her side with her arm around a pillow. She hadn't checked what time it was, but judging by the sunlight, she expected it was past noon. Her mind was so seized with despair and worry that she'd slept only a few fitful hours since Andrei and left her at her bedroom door last night. Her hand was numb from clutching her gear necklace. She'd been holding it so tightly and for so long that the teeth had cut grooves into her palm.
Alex is a normal young lad and when the opportunity presents itself, he wants to be there. Trouble is, things don't always go the way we would like them to do they?
Thanks once again to my trusty Kris for taking the time out to cast an eye over this before I plonked it up here. It's not nearly as steamy as the last one, but life's not always like that is it?
Disclaimer:
Any similarity to persons living or dead is really unfortunate. This is fiction, you don't think I was really that lucky do you?

CHAPTER THIRTEEN
All of our audiences were so enthusiastic! Standing ovations! The crowds demanded encores at each performance! The Marilyn Show's success went above and beyond our expectations.
Now that Miriam knows the truth, can he better cope with what's happening? Or is a breakdown unavoidable?
Some questions are answered, while some new ones are asked... oh, yeah, and barbecue!
Her tale is not a new one. The idea that she would grow up loving makeup and dresses instead football and jerseys is as much a mystery to her as to you the reader. It wasn't an accident that she was drawn satin and bows but a gradual evolution.
“Oh, Sandy? Well she is different. Oh sh … I mean ah … she told me she wanted nothing to do with boys … uh … until after she … uh …is done with school.” Mrs. J stuttered, then realizing what she said, I noticed she had some regret about what she had said. “That didn’t sound very good, did it?”
“No it didn’t Mary, that sounded horrible actually. What’s so different about Sandy? Why can’t she date boys? Is it her, or you and your husband, that don’t want her to date boys?”
An odd chain of events and a gold necklace links a teenage boy and a young girl. Will either of them have the courage to follow the advice of an old man by breaking the chain, and what kind of trap is the man warning about?
A week or so ago I posted a short atmospheric piece triggered by an experience on the river bank. This is for those who found it too dark: it is, if you like, an antidote to Elegy. You inspired it, thank you.
On her way to her final confrontation with the Cat Goddess, Becca gets "all fired up" defending Tommy, gives some enemies a little space, gets a front row seat for Heather's awakening, and learns things about magical predators she could never see on The Discovery Channel. Spells at twenty paces, anyone?
Synopsis: Two High School students make it big through the FBI Academy and just can’t wait for their first assignment. However, nothing had prepared them for their first assignment out of the Academy!
Alex is taken to his mum's friend's house and while they go out, Ronnie's daughter Sharon is charged with 'babysitting'.
Sharon suggests a game of Truth or Dare and that's where this all begins...
This is a story taken from the Alex's Adventures in a World of Wonder universe that I created. I must confess, it's a lot more steamy than my posts here usually are so be warned.
Thanks again to Kristina LS, my trusty proof-reader and generally all-round good egg. I don't think I'd still be writing this stuff without her input. She knows what I mean....
When Christina woke up early on Friday morning, none of her fear remained from the day before. Her last day with the Levchenkos hadn't gone as well as she'd hoped, but everything had worked out in the end. She was showered and dressed by the time the sun had come up. It didn't feel right to wear her jeans after last night, so she decided to wear the last skirt that Nina had picked out for her, and her plain white blouse.
Anastasia was livid. She stormed into her room and slammed the door. The bed was covered with stacks of clothes and two open suitcases. One case was stuffed over the edge, and the other was only half filled. She didn't care what her father said; it wasn't his decision. She went to the chest of drawers and slammed each drawer as she searched for her makeup bag. The antique lamp that she'd bought at the County Fair teetered dangerously with each drawer slammed underneath it. She angrily pushed the items on her shelf aside, breaking her sophomore year soccer trophy.
"Granny, Granny, please tell us a story! Pretty please, Granny!" said nine year old Linda as she sat on the floor with her twin sister Julia.
They had on matching sky blue blouses and navy blue skorts which each had embroidered a red rose with green stem and leaves as well as the first initial of their name. They both looked precious in their white knee socks and black Mary Jane's. Each of them looked intently at me with their deep blue eyes, resisting the temptation to twirl their long blonde hair in their fingers, since they loved my stories.
Before I could answer, Julia burst out, "Tell us a new one, Granny! Pretty, please!"
She stayed in Japan after the breakup of her first J-Pop band, Texas Belles. The other American members went their own ways, some of them back to the states.
But no one in Japan ever knew Sam, the American bass-playing boy who joined his sister’s band and helped make them a hit. Sam is Ayumi now, as real as a girl can get. And she wants to keep doing what she does best.
