“Liam! Come here!” I hear a voice yell, making me grunt as my eyelids flicker open and I take in my surroundings — my bedroom in Sonia’s flat, with bright sunlight streaming through a gap in my curtains. However, it isn’t Sonia who’s calling me. “Liam! I haven’t got all day!”

Neil wanted to be famous in his old age for discovering the Lost City of Zed with the Fountain of Youth, according to legend. Now she wants to discover the perfect nail color to go with her prom gown.
He found it difficult to settle back into work upon his return.
Even once his member returned to normal, there was a bewildering array of processes that he couldn't stop being aware of. The expansion and contraction of his chest, once an imitated habit meant to put humans at ease and now a biological necessity. Blinking, as apparently one's eyes were another body part that needed to remain moist. To say nothing of his first experience of defecation, which had been unpleasant.

A rapid bit or negotiation followed, as Debbie clearly needed assurance her charge would be safe, and Neil was initially reluctant to move, as his little notebook was filling with e-mail addresses and names, but the promise of fresh victims finally settled the deal.
It had obviously been years since I had climbed on Milestone, but it had always been a favourite spot, right from my earliest puzzlement at how to use the unfriendly voids on Direct up to my realisation that the slab held enough holds in its ripples to make the climbing far more straightforward. As we uncoiled the ropes, Enfys was chuckling.

I took a deep breath. "I'm metahuman."
He shrugged at that. "I expected something of the sort, or I wouldn't have invited you in. You are... unbalanced. In here." He pointed at his chest. "What is inside you does not match the outside. Why do you think I can help?" Just a trace of impatience, a hint of master dealing with a dull student. Executed to perfection.
I lowered my eyes, studying the fine wisps of steam rising out of my cup. "I have new abilities, that I am still getting used to. Strength. Speed. I am very difficult to hurt." I raised my eyes to his. "I'm a blunt instrument. It would be very easy for me to kill a person with a single blow. I don't need anyone's help for that. It is very hard for me to not kill a person with a single blow, and that's where I hope you can help."
Ben Turner offered a half-smile. "I believe I can help. Do not strike anyone. Thank you for coming."

Being without a bike, I took a taxi home. Vanessa had given me the rest of the day off after calling me to her office for a debrief. She has a very raucous laugh, and when Nigel mentioned the “I know where it’s been” comment, she brayed.

NOTE: This story is loosely -- as in VERY loosely -- based on the manga/anime "Princess Princess." After the initial concept, any similarities are mostly coincidental, unless they aren't. (Puzzle that out why don't ya.)

In the language of epidemiology, patients are numbered sequentially. Once an epidemic goes public it is patient one who gets the news coverage or journal articles written about them. What is less known is that there are unrecognized patients who predate the first acknowledged case. Sometimes these people are carriers, like Typhoid Mary, but oftentimes they are merely the unsung victims who's stories are not tied into the whole until long after the papers are written. Jesse Lee was such a person, this is his story.
Story is a prequel to and is set in Lilith Langtree's 'The Center' universe.

The guys have several tents up and there’s tarps over a lot of stuff. They all smile when I come into the garage and the guys that were sitting get to their feet. I liked that it’s really old school gentleman stuff, heck I learned all that stuff in the forces. It’s a standard thing for guys when we’d be at a dress uniform function. Now that the slipper’s on the other foot, I’m liking the treatment.

It’s a word that resonates with me. I used to run unassisted when I was little. I guess all kids run when they’re young and happy. I can remember I used to. I used to run through the sprinklers on the lawn in the summer. I used to run with my friends in the park playing or around the bases in softball and probably from as early as I can remember up until about when I was eight years old that’s just the way it was. I was just like everyone else.

I had a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. In the distance I could see the huge mountain range that included our destination, Ben Nevis. We were so near yet so far. I could not believe that after all we had been through, we would have this horrid green splodge of death in front of us barring our way…

“How's life been?”
Theo was flabbergasted “You turned me into, I don't know what. They think 'Theo' died and that I'm a fake, am I a fake? I've been having a awful time.”
“I'm sorry.” it was the kind of sorry when some one says they drank the last soda or beer when you're looking for one.
Theo took a calming breath “Why did you turn me into this?” Theo waved her hands down her body.

Another, earthshaking scoop about US politics (a 2.5 tremor on the Rorschach scale occurred as Somer wrote this). Here you will learn about a secret society that created the Bush political dynasty, and about its plan to elect a third Bush as President in 2016 (or 2020) by countering the generalized feeling that the first two Bushes were too macho for the job.
Emerging from the Bushes: The first ‘female’ president of the USA?

And so it went, week by week, as my life went on. Real life, that is, in two senses. Firstly, this was my real life, at last, as the work re-birthday card had declared. Secondly, real life is not like a cliffhanger film plot, or cheap novel.

Synopsis:This chapter deals with a suicide attempt. I personally would avoid writing about suicide, but this story has been haunting my dreams for over a week now and I believe it is begging to be written. This first chapter is quite heavy and dark, but I promise the next ones will be a lot lighter.
