Chapter 58

It was one twenty six when the plane landed in at Lester B. Pearson and two men got off the plane and made their way to the rental car stand and were soon on their way north by north west towards Harper’s Point.

They didn’t say much but drove hard and fast one twenty to one forty the entire way. The older of the two was familiar with the roads and highways here being Ontario born and bred.

A group of adventurers come through the town of Raven's Crossing and bring a curse with them.

Previously… Mom said thanks. I joked, “Don’t thank me yet, I’ve just started being your daughter. I still want to know more about those feelings and being a girl. You haven’t begun to tell me how to do it or about birth control.” … “Being a girl is what you should be about; you don’t ‘do it’.”

Mom and I had a long discussion. When we were done I went to my room and Dad and Mom got together. I heard Mom say, “This child better be a boy.” Mom, I learned preferred girls but I got her to question that.

“Oh cool, I’m glad you guys are still friends.” Angel smiled, “I think between her and her cousin Casey and I look down right sexy.” Taking a moment she added, “But even more so on my end.” sticking her tongue out at Casey.

Casey blushed bright red, causing the others to start giggling all over again.

Lacy piped in, “I think you went and broke her Angel.” She giggled.

Casey stuck out her tongue. “Hey, I’ve only been ‘out’ a day. I’m not exactly used to being called ‘sexy’!” she shot back, still blushing, but starting to giggle too.

I step over to Rayne and take her into my arms and hug her gently. “Surprise?”

“This…I never thought…you guys…” she talk sniffles.

Dad smiles. “No, it’s not a big deal. The place needed some TLC that’s all and as for your room you’ve been busy and hurting. Stuff like this gets to be just one big thing you have to do that you don’t have the heart and energy for. Besides Angel’s cooking one of my favorite meals and it’s always been something we did….have a big feed and get together and have a whole lot of hands to get things done.”

Freya smiled at the two remaining, “Myste since you are able to do so I will ask you to go back with the Baron physically. I will also give you both amulets but I think your advice will be more useful if one of you is present in person to give it.”

“Of course Freya,” Myste said.

I couldn’t believe I was about to resort to this…

Ellen stood there, jaw hanging open, and that was how it described itself to me in my head, Bethy’s use of cow for her mother seeming so apt. Ian stood up, and embraced Mam.

“We better get ourselves on the road, Mam. Long drive ahead, and best done before more things are said. But they will be, aye? Just not here”
