for Bailey
for Elizabeth Sladen 1946 - 2011
I wanna be where the Daleks are
I wanna see, wanna see them movin’
Rollin’ around on those - what do you call 'em?
Oh — treads
Flippin' your fins, you don't get too far
Legs are required for a nice adventure
Strolling along wearin’ - what's that word again?
Keds
The blue box zooms, the blue box flies
Whether down here or up in the sky
Wanderin' free - wish I could be
Dr. Who’s girl…
What would I give if I could live off of this planet?
What would I pay to spend a day teleporting away?
What would you bet I’d have no regrets
‘Cause if I did I couldn’t stand it
Fancy free, look at me
Ready to stand
And ready to go where the TARDIS goes
I'd ask my questions and get some answers
What's a sonic screwdriver and what does it - what's the word?
Do?
When's it my turn?
I would adore…around all the universes
I’d love to soar?
Out of the sea
Wish I could be
Dr. Who’s girl….

LOVE IT! *smiles*
I'd be the Doctor's Girl in a Gallifreyan pair of heartbeats! *grin*
Well done, dear one!
Randa
fun stuff
thanks for the giggle.
Hmm...
I suppose I could be Dr Who's Cat-Vboy. My instinct for gratuitous violence in defense is certainly a match for that of a certain warrior of the Sevateem, and I have the sophistication of a certain lady who comes from the same place as the Doctor does. = )
Maybe he could take me to the same version of Atlantis that he went to with Polly and Ben and Jamie? The residents there ate a steady diet of prawns. ^_^
Of course, my "departure scene" would have to be in Ancient Egypt. I'm not in De Nile of the fact that the Ancient Egyptians worshiped cats. ;)
PS: If The Doctor is going to materialize his TARDIS on the ocean floor, he needs to put some sort of shield over the doorway, or the ocean will soon vanish!
If I ever tried to operate
If I ever tried to operate the Tardis there'd be quite a lot of this...

Dr Who
Really liked it.. it took me back to the Dr in the sixties,in black & white TV & the DR was played by Tom Baker I believe
William Hartnell was in Black
William Hartnell was in Black & White same as Patrick Troughton.
Tom Baker was in Full colour, including his long Scarf. :)
Yay!
Great lyrics and wonderful dedication to Liz Sladen. :-) I've been exposed to Doctor Who since I was in the womb (my parents watched it every week) so being the Doctor's female companion is a long held dream. The title did make me wonder if this was based on Mitch Benn's "Be my Doctor Who girl" for a moment but I love the Little Mermaid and the song works well with the lyrics.
Thank you for sharing this with us. :-)
"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."
Like A Tardis In the Void
Princess Thalira: I can't do it, I'm only a girl.
Sarah Jane Smith: Now just a minute your majesty. There is nothing "only" about being a girl!
.
The song made me smile.
The dedication to Elizabeth Sladen made me cry.
So sad. Seems like one minute I was watching her show, never suspecting that
she was battling cancer even as they were filming it, and then reading that she was gone.
The last few DR. WHO episodes with Clara Oswald's niece and nephew along for the ride almost
feel like a tribute to the Sarah Jane Adventures, with her army of teen sidekicks.
And speaking of tributes (my apologies to Elton and Bernie):
.
Goodbye Sarah Jane
Though I never knew you at all
You had the smarts and sass to save the day
When those nasty Cybermen crawled
out of some weird transdimensional gateway
And tried to take a buzz-saw to your brain
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a Tardis in the void
Never knowing what new adventure
you'd be landing in
And I would have loved to be you
But I was just a boy
Yet still I smile as I recall
how you punched out Sigmund Freud
.
Hmmmmm. I guess it needs work...
~hugs, Veronica

Well...
...little Miss Wrench-my-Heart! I was doing pretty good until I read your song; odd but predictable that I'd fall apart to a silly yet poignant tribute. Well I hadn't cried in the last hour plus so I was due!
