Welcome back Grover and, John in Wauwatosa, where are you?

SO glad to see Grover back online and posting stories to boot! Welcome back my sister.

Now... unless I missed something, what the heck happened to John in Wauwatosa? He used to be a regular commenter here and had a very well developed sense of humor. He was always, as far as I know, welcome as a commenter and even contributed to a couple of stories as far as I know.

I'm back, sorta kinda!

Hey, I'm back! It's been a long road but we finally got internet back up and running. When we moved from Clearwater Florida I had no idea that it would take us so long to get back on line here in Sandy, Utah.

It has been an experience!

However, I have been writing and the first of that work is showing up today, Isle of Dreams.

It is completed and thanks to the ever Wonderful Cathy, it's even edited. I do hope I remember how to do that whole posting thing!

It is in three parts and will go up in sections of about 10k words every Friday.

"The Store"

There is a small shop called "The Store" which also has the local laundry attached. This place is located in Bettyhill which is in the far north of Scotland. For those interested, it is at 58.53°N 4.22°W
That's 58 North. Beyond this going north is the Arctic.

This place serves great food. The Mushroom and Tarragon soup was great and very warming on a day that was dominated by very strong N.E. Winds.
Anyway, this sign caught my eye as I ate the soup.

Information requested on breast forms

Hello ladies, I'm a 'newbie' on this site and have read some great stories. I've had some writing experience but not in this genre, so I am trying my hand at it. My chief character buys some adhesive breast forms like those advertised on the home page. I understand they have to be removed on a regular basis. Can anyone tell me how often and how long they have to be kept off? Also can they be worn while having a bath or shower or will that loosen them?
Thanks for your help, Theresa

Publishing Vivid Dream Reality Book 3 on Kindle

I will be publishing Vivid Dream Reality Book 3 on Kindle and in order to have it in the Kindle unlimited category, I need to remove it from this site. I thought it would be nice to give advanced warning before I remove it and figured this would be the easiest way to do that. In two days time, I intend to ask Erin to unpublish all but the first two chapters.

Happy reading.

The Future of Angela's Legacy

Everyone has probably notice that Angela's Legacy has been lagging behind and I have a few reasons. First and foremost, I want to point out that for a group of readers that claim to hate forced fem, Chapter 1, which was nothing but torture porn and forced fem has gotten a LOT of views. 3300 or so. What the hell, guys?

Need Some Writing Help :)

I need some help with Oregon region. I've been toiling with this particular story for a while now and I want to be fairly accurate with it. I've been known to write as vague as possible when it comes to the region I place my stories. I generally just put them in a fictional town in the area where I live. The thing is, I like variety too. This current one I'm writing takes place in a fictional town in Oregon. The problem is that I don't know ANYTHING about the area. Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.

Accurately Depicting Other Cultures

For those of you who do not know me, in my stories I try to authentically depict other cultures. I've had at least some exposure to cultures outside of America, and for those who are unaware, there are lots of cultures that are nothing like ours. A few folk have said that I do a lot of teaching in my stories.

In my stories, I've depicted Aliens, Fundamentalist Mormons, and Arabs, some innocent, and others not so innocent.

So. The %^#%$!@#$@%$#^$ higher ups in my company have been quite demanding lately, so we have been doing double-time, even triple-time, trying to finish a *%#$$%%$^^%#@$ status report for them, which is due in 13 hours...

Anywhoo...

Because of this, I didn't have time to finish the latest chapter of Shepherd Moon, and will not be posted tonight. Soweee!

The Real Score about Fanfiction and Fair Use

The Real Score about Fanfiction and Fair Use

Hi.

I was reading a blog here in the Big Closet, titled "Fan Fiction." (see https://bigclosetr.us/topshelf/blog-entry/79528/fan-fiction )

I was interested in the topic because I knew something about it because it's part of the work that I do, and I thought I could pick up something that may be useful at work next time I have to deal with the same thing again. And, besides, I have several fanfiction stories here.

Anyway, though I am not a lawyer, I've been fielding questions and issues relating DCMA, derivative works and Fair Use for a while now. So I have a fairly substantial knowledge about it, IMHO.

So I thought I'd share what I know about fanfiction and Fair Use (I know my facts are backstopped, but feel free to verify the things I say here if you want - I won't mind, though I ask that, if you disagree, that we not fight or argue, okay? Let's be civil).

Fan Fiction

I've just viewed a movie that I thought had a lovely premise but suffered from weak science, poor film editing, and recovered only about half the costs in the box office. "The Space Between Us".

I do so want to write a Fanfiction story that rounds the story out, but the more I look at doing it the more sinister the penalties seem.

I think I see quite a lot of it here that is Fanfiction based on video games.

I wonder how the authors stay out of trouble?

What if

When I was young I always used to love to read the What If comic by Marvel. When I try to write stories I always see so many different ways they could go with those characters. This led me to think if other people were the same. If they would read a story with the same plot but the story itself turns out completely different.

Sorry, no Virtually Twisted

Well, sorry to say this, but I went on a trip this weekend and I neglected to pack the charger for my laptop and also neglected to charge it before leaving. I do not have access to any of my files. Consequently, there will be no Virtually Twisted this weekend. I'll make it up next week by posting two parts.

story idea - "the Breach"

Okay so I'm fooling around with a story idea, and could use some feedback, Basic idea is a young heroine from a obscure "magical girl" manga which has been repackaged for an English speaking audience finds herself blown out of the pages of her book, into a place between stories, between universes. She now goes from universe to universe, story to story, trying to get "home". To make this idea extra awesome I'd like other authors' permission for her to visit their stories and interact with their characters as part of her journey,

Stories That Profoundly Affect Us.

I just finished, for the second time, "Amadeus Irena", by Shauna and found it absolutely engaging. Parts of the tale approach 500 Kudos, a count that may be the highest ever on BCTS, and I agree with those who voted.

Sitting here, reflecting on what other works have impacted me in a positive way, I've made a short list:

Of course there is "Bike". It was lovely, realistic, and encouraging. The Author has moved on and I hope for the best for her.

Need editor for upcoming book

As the title says, I’m looking for an editor for an upcoming book I’m writing. I have a decent bit done already but I need someone to go through and fix things like grammar, fix sentences that may not have come out right, and fix word choices that are not exactly fitting for the situation they are used in. If you’re interested, PM me on here and I’ll talk with you about the story and what it’s about.

"Arrival" The Movie.

Just sitting here thinking about the impact that the movie "Arrival" has had on me. I've been seriously ill, but seem to have cheated death again, and then had a dream this afternoon that my now being a woman was a 'punishment' because I'd done such a pathetic job of being male. Yes, talk about demented, frightening dreams, yallah !!!

I'm going to try to eat, and if I do not feel better by morning perhaps go to the Hospital ED in the morning?

Ladieeeeees and Gentlemen: Welcome Back GROVER!

After a tumultuous several months and moves and new jobs and health problems and financial problems, it is my privilege, my extreme pleasure to welcome back, my dear friend, my sister from another mister(?), one of my very favorite authors...... GROVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have just had a skype conversation with Grover who has told me that they finally got connected to the internet and he would be posting new stories very soon! Grover tells me that, in the hiatus, he has been working feverishly on new stories and possible endings to a few unfinished ones!!!

Non-Masks Anthology

I'm thinking about stories to include in a non-Masks anthology. So far, my own ideas include rewritten versions of several stories which have been posted here, including Unwanted Child. I have rewritten versions of stories which appeared in fanzines and on TSA and TG Stories. As well as some which have never appeared outside my computer and head.:-)

What do you folks suggest?

Virtually Twisted - Stranded (Also seeking input)

Before I get started I'm considering changing my posting schedule. Instead of doing regular postings after work on weekdays I'm considering switching to a regular Saturday morning posting as I am doing today. If you have a preference I sure would appreciate your thoughts and opinions.

On her way to Spiral, Calista finds herself stranded. Will she make it into town or will she fall by the wayside?

Dem's da brakes

Well, I had intended to get stuff posted, but life got busy. But now I got a couple of months. I was riding a quad and had a deer run out in front of me. Ended up in a ditch and my feet, left one, got caught between my quad and the dirt. I ended up with a Trimalleolar fracture Both bones in leg and one in the foot. And yes, hurts like hell.

So while I'm sitting about the house, if people will stop expecting me to go places and do things, I'll try to post.

First (still) NOT dead. Second: deeply conflicted

I felt really guilty posting so sporadically, so I swore to myself (and maybe some readers in DMs) that I would keep my wrangling with personal demons to myself until I actually FINISHED my god-cursed stories and posted the rest up until the end.

....seemed like a good idea at the time....

but as I wrote... diversions/digressions developed and I felt like one of those characters in an old horror film (say, poltergeist) running down the hall as it just kept getting longer and she found herself losing ground!

So. My conundrum:
