Four Years At BCTS

Four years ago I was getting up my nerve to sign on to BCTS. I found this to be such a warm and friendly place. Oh, there were a few soreheads and curmudgeons around; however, they were few and far between. A little more than three years ago, I decided to take the plunge and post the story I had spent several years writing. It was badly edited and proofed (by me); however, it was well received. Thankfully, Holly Hart took me under her wing. I posted two more stories before prostate cancer and some severely botched surgery knocked me on my rear for several months.

Through the years: Tracy emerging part 22

Both of them looked at Tracy, standing there in her bright pink nightgown, her hair done up in pigtails, as she stood there. When she spoke, her voice trembled. “Please stop fighting.” She pleaded.

“Tracy, we...we are not fighting.” Her mother started to say.

“You were both yelling.” Tracy's eyes filled with tears and it could be heard in her voice when she spoke. “Vance and I both heard you.”

“You're right, we were fighting.” Her father agreed. He gave a big sigh and moved to his youngest, and put an arm around her. “There are times that parents will fight. But that doesn’t mean that we hate you. Or Vance.”

Out of it

My dog, who I have had for almost 16 years (short by 2 mo), was put to sleep today. She was old, had trouble walking, fell over occasionally, had trouble going up and down stairs. It hurts. It hurts a lot. I have been crying over it for the last several days. This has been really difficult to deal with. So, I wanted to let you all know, because I will be out of it for a while.

Take care and hug your pets.

The QT Diaries -- The Lab Rats

The Lab Rats

The QT Diaries

The Lab Rats

by Janet Nolan Miles

There is sabotage on the Space Patrol Research Ship Ponce de Leon and the targets are a pair of researchers. Who is trying to stop research into the Quantum Transformation Syndrome? Is it possible to live forever?

Has the brown stuff hit the fan?

Well, I may have set myself up for disaster a lot sooner than I planned. I was driving home this morning, and I had some bottles belonging to my ex in my car, so I figured I would drop them off on my way. So I hit the corner near her house, and she's there, watching my daughter walk to school, so I told her about dropping off the bottles. Why does this mean bad things? Because I was still wearing my wig from work when she saw me. Right now, my only hope is that it didn't register with her, or WW III will start ahead of schedule ...

Jessica's Journey Part 5

Just wanted to let everyone know that the next part of the Jessica's Journey has been sent to be edited and hopefully I should have it back soon.

Sorry for the wait I was admitted to the hospital a couple weeks ago with a sinus infection that refused to leave because of the medications that I am taking, they suppress the immune system and made it hard to fight off. I have to see the doctor again this week and hopefully it has completely gone now, keeping my fingers crossed.

Bike Record

I'll wait for PS to do the official statistics, but just doing a quick count using the cat's toes, and counting back the last six or seven episodes, Bike has reached well over 2 Million words.

My mother always told me I would use half a dozen words where one would do, perhaps she had a point.

In keeping with the title of the story, I demonstrated the ease with which I manage to fall off bikes yesterday, thankfully no serious damage was done to the bike. Oh me, just a few scratches - bike riders is tough (unfortunately not as tough as the average road!).

Psychology of Gender

An interesting article about gender, with some explanations of hormone experiments on rats.

http://www.flyfishingdevon.co.uk/salmon/year1/psy128psychose...

Keep in mind that some of the data is more than 30 years old; however, it's still interesting to read.

I ended up there when I was trying to find out some of the effects of prepubescent castration in humans - basically, whether or not it would be the same as total androgen insensitivity. (apparently not, at least, not without providing estrogen therapy to trigger puberty)

029) Earthly Devoted Harmony

So. The family meeting had been tonight.

This morning I had too much laundry to do and couldn't make it to church, when my mother found out about this, she was all like "what about the Bishop?"

I was like, "what, about the Bishop?"

She was, "Weren't you supposed to meet with him at church today?"

I was like "no..."

She said, "you told me I'd find out today, at church."

I know she's brighter than that, so she selectively misunderstood me back on Friday. I said, "No... I said you'd find out today - at the family meeting."

LDS, not LSD...

In a comment titled "Dear John" on Hope Eternal Reigns' "Angharad has finally attained the coveted MD", Abigail Drew wrote about what a "Dear John" meant to a young Mormon on missionary. Besides pointing out that "Dear John" is a well known introduction on letters to serviceman, I had to go on with ....

028) Dare To Dream

Holy crapoly, I DREAMED last night. No, seriously, *I* DREAMED! I *HAVE* been dreaming!

You're probably all thinking I'm nuts right now, and perhaps I am, but you have to understand, for nearly two decades, as my fortress has been in place, I have never once dreamed.

The last time I can remember dreaming while sleeping was around 10 or 11. That's 15-16 years of NO DREAMS.

Request for thoughts

I am working on a story that is set in Denise's QT Diaries universe. It is the back story for a couple of characters that will appear in her next story release (Ep. V).

This involves an extremely rare case of twin QTs. The two are not originally even related, but are genetically 'merged' in the transformation.

One of the gained characteristics is 'twin speak', the non-verbal communication that twins use. I am thinking of portraying it as a limited form of telepathy, but am open to suggestions.

027) The Last Supper

Had dinner with just my mom and I last night at a Japanese restaurant in town.

The restaurant was excellent. It was my first time there, though my younger brother had been there and told me it was very authentic.

What he hadn't told me was that it was also very traditional! The cooks even come to your table and do the whole show thing if you order Habachi! We didn't, but we observed this taking place with customers who did.

Looking for a story

I was thinking tonight of a short story I read once, about a post op young woman, dressing as masculine as she can, wearing a cap to sit and watch a game with her Dad, to give him one last gift from his "son."

It was a sentimental story, but I can't for the life of me remember the title, and I would like to read it again.

Hope someone can point me to it.

Hugs,

Kristy

OMG - You're NOT going to believe it

I'm absolutely, positively in shock!! I just got my renewal package for my health insurance. I am, for medical reasons, retired from the University of California.

This year, (drum roll please) the University has included Gender Reassignment Surgery (GRS/SRS). The very last hurdle for me to go forward with it has been removed.

Now all I have to do is make up my mind (okay, it's already made up, but...) to do IT.

(sigh)

Blessings,
Beth

Wish I'd Stayed In Bed: 6. Stupid Enough To Actually Work

My brain was still not firing on all cylinders, and if I closed my eyes I'd feel the room start to spin, but even so I began to form a plan. I could tell Carl that I was Bill's twin sister, and ask if I could stay the night.

Wish I'd Stayed In Bed by Kaleigh Way

I'll probably draw some fire for this one ...

And please as you read this, remember that this is just my opinion, that i don't assume to speak for anyone else and yes it was fiction i just read. on to the rant:

I just read a story series that was well plotted, well thought, a good read and... it made me fracking angry. Not at the author, not at the ideas presented, but at the concept of behaviour modification and ego death. The idea of 'We don't like how you think, so we will change the way you think'.

about "There was a point"

Well, I'd like to take a second and talk about my latest piece, "There was a point". I had a horrible nightmare in which I replayed a portion of my abuse, except in the nightmare I played both parts - the abuser and the abused. After I woke shaking and crying, I was left with the story, which took about 5 minutes to write. Just goes to show something beautiful can come out of pain, yes?

Oops...

Oops... I said I was going to ave a 300 Rains chapter ready for Sunday and here it is Friday and no Chapter. Well, life and school has been crazy and the edits have not been really high on my list of tasks. I fully intend to get to it and I will post it as soon as it is done regardless of the day.

Sorry. Mea Culpa.

08) OYH: Indefinite Hiatus

I hope you all can understand that with what I am going through right now, I really can't even begin to think about writing Open Your Heart.

Don't worry though, I do not plan to give up on it or stop writing it! I merely need to work out my own life before I can help Pattengale with their life.

Even when I do start pushing chapters out again, they will likely be very slow in coming.

Abigail Drew.
