The beginning part 9 – Confessions

At first, I felt unsure how I got in my bed. Then some faint memory came back where I remembered Mary taking me by the hand and tucking me into bed. I looked at the alarm clock and saw that it was only five after seven. I recalled last night’s events which made me smile. Warm and fuzzy feelings overcame my body while thinking about reuniting with my best friend, my sister Mary. Being aware that she has always known that I am a girl made me feel ticklish inside. We are sisters and always will be.

CHAPTER 47
“We have the medical reports, naturally. Why did you leave hard cover yourself?”

I found myself glaring at Noble, and had to force myself to pull the reaction back. Careful, girl; P, P, as ever.

“I made a dynamic risk assessment that as Morris had been the last known active shooter I was not at risk. I was also wearing what I assume to be bomb disposal personal protection equipment, and I have and retain a duty of care to the community of which I am part. The Peel principles, Mr Noble”

The truth always hurts (ancient saying).

The news about Julia and Sandra spread like the flash of a lightning. Televisions came, reporters asked them for interviews, many organizations wanted them to be their honorific members. In only a few weeks, everyone was talking about. Julia's transformation from a girl and Sandra's transformation from a guy, both into hermaphrodites, reached the front pages of many news corporations. Reporters were everywhere for a while. It was known as the surgery of the century.

I had just started on dinner after a long day at work when Tommy came running into the kitchen with tears and snot running down his face again. “Tommy, what happened?” I asked as I knelt down to lift his five year old body to my breast. Of course, I already had a pretty good idea what was wrong. It was what was wrong way too often.

“Jack was pulling on tiger’s tale an’ tiger bit him an’ I laughed”. Jack is my sister-in-laws seven year old son. They lived across the street from us. Jack was my idea about what was wrong even if the explanation didn’t make sense yet.

After their greeting Father was silent as they walked through the forest, heading hubwards towards the Mill Road. Wilting under his disapproval Jane took the tiara off and stowed it in her sack. She didn't need it in the daylight. She kept the ring on. It was yet another thing to set her apart, after all villagers didn't wear rings, but the stamina boost it gave was worth her father's glares.

This is sequel to An Achean Tale and will make more sense if you read that first. I had no plans to write a sequel but the idea of the unknown tomboy's reaction to the amazons just wouldn't go away. There will not be any more of these. It was too hard to keep this light in a war. I basically just glossed over truths about casualties and the fate of female captives. I read a bowlderized version of the Illiad almost sixty years ago. Since then it has always been a part of the accepted cultural background of my life without ever reading a decent translation. That may have to change.

Chapter Three – Shopgirl

Mary lives alone barely making a substance as a shopgirl. A mysterious lady offers her a second job working nights. Charlotte Beason is introduced to life at Chelmsford and begins her studies which are not what she expected.

People reject what they find different from them (a study about discrimination).

Caution: smoking scenes, humiliation scenes and some adult subjects

Julia and Sandra are preparing to go to school with their new hermaphrodite bodies. How will their colleagues accept this? To make things harder, all students heard what happened with the two.

Serra and Stevie find a place to lie low in plain sight for a while to let their pursuers pass over them while getting their strength back.

Here we go, next chapter. I should start posting more often, at least for a little bit. For now, Enjoy.
