A couple of weeks ago I was watching an old Anthony Hopkins movie: Alistair MacLean's When Eight Bells Toll I'm always curious about film composers, so I looked up Ms. Morley, the composer of the film score, and here's what I further discovered, coincidentally, as summarized in the following online entry:

In "The Slipper and the Rose," the credited composer for the original music is Angela Morley. The Sherman brothers, Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman, were credited with writing the songs for the film, but Angela Morley composed the original score and arranged the music.

Angela Morley was an MtF transsexual with a body of work before, during, and after her transition, with multiple Emmy awards and an Oscar nomination. Like Wendy Carlos, her transition is barely acknowledged by many, despite her long history of composing and arranging as Angela Morley. Not a fad or attention seeking; her true self was known and supported by her musical contemporaries,
