Chapter 9

The Wedding Seasons

In the 1980’s people tended to get married in their 20s, rather than as now in the 21st century waiting into their 30s, that is if they decide to get married at all, so over the next few years we attended the weddings of most of our university group.

The doctor said I had ambi-something genitals. I found out later it meant, not fully girl or fully boy. Later still I found out it just meant uncertain, which I think was just a fancy way of saying they didn’t know what they were talking about.

My brother David said, “There is no way Caro is a boy. No boy would be seen dead in her clothes.”
My sister Alice added, “There’re more than a few girls, including me, who wouldn’t either.”

“We’re in the middle of outer space, so you’d think that SOMETHING weird or out-of-this-world would happen every couple of days. But NOTHING! Nothing ever happens here. You are the single biggest event since we left Earth, and I doubt that anything’s going to top you for a long, long time.”

Chapter Ten -- The Hostess With The Mostest

The final chapter of this story. Candi explores Singapore and meets up with a debonair Navy Lieutenant at the Raffle's Hotel. Millie Walker is acting suspiciously and Candi is confused. To say any more would spoil the final reveal, which I hope you all like, and tell me what you think of this story.

Few people came to know him because when he was there the university was empty, the young men were away busy dying in the trenches of the First World War.

Having again deceived and eveaded her pursuers, Iona decides to try and explore other avenues to 'cross over' and locate her childhood friend from the horrors of her childhood.

Chapter 27

Like shattered starlight, Princess Undercut appeared next to the dock in Nerva, where Walter and Mortar Mage waited. She looked around for Psi Wizard, who appeared moments later on a boat.

He let the engine idle as he approached so that it wouldn’t make too much noise.

Princess Undercut handed Mortar a bag with a pillow in it. She said, “Will this work?”

“A pillow?” he asked.

“They both slept on it a few times.” Among other things.

Chapter Nine -- Come Fly With Me

Candi duxes the course and she and Millie are selected to work on Goldwing Airways new Boeing 747 Skyliner in First Class. Megan DeVille is the Cabin Manager and provides Candi with some pertinent advice and some in-flight entertainment

CHAPTER 22
There is something I have always liked about a sleeping bag, and in later years I discovered the same feelings for small tents. It feels nest-like, a small space entirely one’s own, where everything feels close and warm. I luxuriated in my bag for a little while after I woke, but I needed a wee, and there was only so long I could put it off. In nighty, dressing gown and socks, I did the necessary before creeping down the stairs and past the living room door. From behind it came the sound of more than one snorer. I filled the kettle, and then decided to set a pan of water boiling so that there would be plenty for the tea that I knew would vanish almost as soon as it was poured.

"The problem, Mrs. Parsons," Mr. Derringer said, walking to the other side of the conference table and resting his fingers against the sleek black surface. "Is that Miratran seeks to change people at their very core. A drug that forces them into a comatose state and pushes them to live out a fantasy of the user's choosing, forcing them to be someone that they're not with the expectation that when they wake up, they will simply BE that person.
