A friendly place to read, write and discuss Transgender Fiction.
Home of 3000+ chapters of Easy as Falling off a Bike by Angharad and many other stories.
I'm going to use this as a place to discuss search, how to use it and what people want to use it for.
A few things:
When you use multiple words in a search, the default is to perform an OR search. Searching for curly perm will turn up both curly and perm and will list first results that have both terms.
Searches are case insensitive. Perm, perm and PERM are all the same.
Searches are made for roots, so perm, perms, permed and perming are all the same. But permanent is a different word.
A plus symbol in front of a word in a search means that word is required so curly +perm will return only results that have some form of perm in them and will prefer ones that have curly, also. +curly +perm results must have both words though not necessarily next to each other.
A minus sign means do not include the following word in results so perm -curly would return results that matched perm but would not include ones that also had curly.
Quotes around a phrase will search for an exact match, but will still ignore case. "curly perm" will match Curly perm and lots of variations but both words in that order must be present.
Comments are regarded by search as part of the post.
The sidebars allow you to restrict searches to posts that match various criteria, like type of post, audience rating or authorship. At the top right is a sidebar that allows you to control how the search indexer orders results.
When we upgrade to Drupal 7, this will all change a bit but not drastically.
You can use this thread to ask questions and make comments about search.
In this chapter, Emily navigates the complexities of her school day, grappling with lingering emotions and the weight of recent events. Amidst the noise of her peers and the quiet battles within herself, she finds small moments of connection and resolve. Through interactions that challenge her sense of belonging and decisions that test her strength, Emily takes steps toward understanding herself and the choices that define her path.
Cynthia and the High School Years — Part 1, Chapters 12 and 13
By Portia Bennett
Chapters 12 and 13: Did what I think just happen really happen? Well, we have two chapters to straighten this mess out; however, there is much more going on than will ever be revealed in Parts 1 and 2 of Cindy’s high school years. You can read a lot between the lines. There are many others working in the shadow of The Wizard. The question is going to be asked again and again: why is The Wizard going to all this trouble?
...He found it really odd but also quite exciting that the guys knew he wasn't really a girl, but still reacted towards him as if he was. It was a different kind of attention that he was completely unaccustomed and unprepared for, but it also felt really nice too.

Lee and Leanne were twins, but as a young baby, Leanne dies, leaving her twin with the firm belief that part of her remained with him for always.
As Lee grew in an unhappy home, struggling with a gender identity problem, events occurred that enabled Leanne to come alive again, in more ways than one.
Leanne got a job in a classy cocktail bar, called Badger's, that turned away hundreds for every one that was accepted.
I wrote this story probably in 2000 and published it in 2001 on Storysite. At the time, I don't think I had any idea where life would take me; certainly not to transition. It is true, and short. This really did happen to me.
Swan Song by: Credence Browne (Now Gwen Brown)
I stood on the seat of the couch, looking out the window, wanting to go outside. Pointing outside, I began talking in my little child's voice. "I want to go mom." I said.
"Life is never simple, child," said Ororo. "The other students here at the Institute know that better than most. You will find all of them to be very understanding and accepting of you -- no matter which gender you appear to be."

The Princess and the Plague Part 50 By Anistasia Allread
“This is a don't ask, don't tell situation.” Aunt Carrie stated. “I'm only giving you some information, the rest is up to you. If anyone asks, you didn't hear any of this from me.” She gave Erika a penetrating look.
This chapter addresses the first steps towards helping Christopher, AKA Christine but more affectionately called Chrissie by the family at the cottage.
Jamie was surprised to hear that Karen followed him home. He wiped the tears from his face with his shirt sleeve and headed down the stairs to the front door. He unbolted the lock, and let Karen in, with his eyes pointed downwards, ashamed to meet hers. He thought about how he had admitted to the entire school that his life was just an act. "I guess you must really think I'm a freak after that." Karen's eyes welled up, and she hugged Jamie tight. "I don't think you're a freak, and I really don't think you're weird either. I'm so sorry I said that Jamie."
I heard this song on the radio, and it reminded me that I hadn't written anything for Song Month yet. So here is my silly song parody, with apologies to Paul Simon (who can’t count; he only came up with 5.)
Cynthia and the High School Years — Part 1, Chapter 11
By Portia Bennett
Chapter 11: Bobbie’s golf skills garner national attention, some of it not what she really wanted when a picture of her and Cindy dressed in revealing bikinis surfaces. Bobbie is invited to compete in a women’s professional tournament as an amateur, and after a slow start, does very well. Cindy and Donna go to a summer camp for athletes so they may refine their skills. Cindy is just glad to be with Donna, as Donna is glad to be with her. Cindy realizes there is something bothering Donna; however, she respects Donna’s privacy and doesn’t ask what it is. Then Donna disappears, never to be seen again. Needless to say, Cindy is nearly destroyed with grief as she finds out Donna no longer exists in their universe. The whole thing reeks of magic gone wrong, and The Wizard admits her existence has been terminated. He doesn’t seem to be too concerned. And, what’s this about ducks?
We walked away from the nail salon on the morning of the Hairstyling competition, Ginger and I, like two window shoppers with no cares in their minds. Indeed, there was no care in my mind at all. I had just finished an hour or more at the hands (quite literally) of an attractive young woman.
...Xavier stayed up for awhile longer to think about Chris McGee.
'Such a remarkable young person', he thought.
In truth, they were all quite remarkable. Each possessed of the incredible potential to be either an aid or a blight upon humanity. It would be the experiences of their youth more than anything else that would ultimately decide which path each of them would walk.
The XX-Factor Chapter Three - Discoveries & Decisions
Apologies for not replying sooner, I was rather tied up when I read your last letter.
I am writing to thank you for the wonderful thing you did for me three weeks ago, I do not know how much you have worked out about my other more feminine side, but your actions did rather drop me in at the deep end as it were. Luckily I had enough idea of how to cope and did not get overwhelmed by the situation and drown, I did rather well out of the experience actually.
My sister's all-girl J-POP band (in Texas?) needs a bass player. No problem, I play bass, but if I take the gig, it won't be an all-girl band.... So, obvious solution and I do look cute, unfortunately....
What do you mean, we're a hit? And we've got a contract!? And we're going to JAPAN?!?!
I can't be most popular girl in the band! My name is Sam...
Almost Halloween, on a rainy day near Buttonwillow she stole a ride...
Esperanza

The stowaway hitchhiker called herself Kelly, or maybe Esperanza. She seemed to be haunted by the ghost of an old man…but was the true story even stranger?
