The Colonel sat on the same rusted metal chair they’d tied him to however many days ago it was that he was “detained” by people claiming to be with the FBI. Same chair, same dank basement smelling concrete room same single light above him same no windows. The only thing that seemed to change was the number of cuts and bruises on his body. Bobbie realizes that Campion is cheating. She thought his putt on the first hole shouldn’t have gone into the hole, but it did. When Campion’s long downhill putt was destined to roll off the green, but stopped next to the hole, she felt the magic ‘push’ that stopped it. Now she is waiting for the other shoe to drop. She is certain that whoever is doing the magic will start to affect her ball as well. It is only a matter of time.

The problem is Bobbie will not use magic in retaliation. It will destroy everything she believes in. Her hands are tied. She is just going to have to gut it out. Bobbie’s friends know what is going on and have notified The Wizard. He will not do anything to affect the play of the game.

The bulk of this story takes place over one day. There are eighteen chapters (holes), plus the Nineteenth Hole (Conclusion).

This is a new occasional series that takes its basis and some of its storyline from the cancelled Tokyopop Manga, Yubisaki Milk Tea by Tomochika Miyano. It’s a great series and well worth looking out, it’s a mystery why they cancelled it. For my version I’ve changed the setting from Japan to England and of course the names, then I’ve added some new characters and situations to produce Jamie and the Peach. The original series was cancelled before completion but I intend to take my version somewhat further!

...I knew what had happened. As one of the cops approached me and started to speak to me, I heard not a single word. I merely saw his mouth move as tears began to fall from my eyes.

I remember little else from that evening other than finding myself in my old room, now occupied by Corie, and Kate alongside me in the bed. Owen and Meg were gone. In the first four parts, Barb capitalizes on her son Kyle’s desire for a moped (a motor scooter) to propose a deal: If he wears girls’ clothes for a month, then he can get the moped. He makes the deal on the understanding that he can choose the clothes. He figures he will be able to find a masculine look, just as long as he wears sweatshirts bulky enough to hide the bras his mother adds to the deal. Kyle sees an easy win; his mother hopes that somehow the knowledge that he is wearing girls’ clothes will tame her son.
