Christmas Day:
Charlotte was happy and tired as she lay in bed, snuggled against her wife. Both of them had gone to bed naked and made love to one another until the early morning. As tired as Charlotte felt, she didn’t want to fall asleep. She just wanted to listen to her wife as she slept.
Her head was resting against her wife’s chest and could hear her heartbeat. She could still smell the cinnamon scent of her wife’s perfume. She knew Stella wore Earth-scented perfume, instead of the flowery or fancier perfume most women wore.
She finally allows herself to drift off to sleep. While the two of them slept, both women ended up spooning against one another, and sometimes holding one another as they slept. The two of them slept too well into the late afternoon.
Charlotte woke up when she felt her wife release her and slipped out of bed. She opens her eyes and watches as Stella leaves the bedroom and heads towards the bathroom. She listens and waits for Stella to come back into the bedroom.
After a few minutes, Stella walks back into the bedroom. She stops in the doorway and looks at Charlotte as she lies in bed. She noticed that Charlotte was wide awake and watching her.
“Like what you see?” A smile appears on her face.
“No, I love what I see. I’m happy you came.” Charlotte sat up in bed and patted the cover next to her.
Stella walks over and sits down on the bed. She leans towards Charlotte and kisses her fully on the lips. After a few seconds, she leans back and looks at her wife “I’m glad I came as well. So, is there anything in this house to eat?”
“Yes, the frig is full stock and there’s a bunch of homemade cookies as well.”
“Good! Because I’m hungry.” Stella was feeling extremely hungry.
“Then, let me make you a home-cooked meal.” Charlotte gets out of bed and hands her house robe to her wife.
“Thanks.” Stella slips her wife’s house robe on. She grabs a pair of socks from the dresser drawer. She knew how her wife arranged things.
Charlotte puts on a pair of panties and one of the long t-shirts she brought with her. There was a slight chill in the house. The two women walk downstairs and into the kitchen.
Stella walks over to the refrigerator and looks inside to see what Charlotte stocked up on. She knew her wife had her favorites, just as she did.
“How about, we have your famous sausage and gravy biscuits?” Stella looks towards her wife.
“I remembered the first time you tried them.” Charlotte knew people in England had never had gravy-covered biscuits before.
It was a shock to her wife when she made homemade biscuits. The English, especially her wife had never had gravy-covered biscuits. Also, when she said biscuits, her wife was thinking about the sweet crumbling-style baked treats called scones.
“Okay, since I know how much you love them.” Charlotte grabs the prepared biscuits can dough and grease a cookie sheet.
Charlotte preheats the oven and lays the biscuits out on the cookie sheet to cook. She turns the stove on places her grandmother’s cast iron skillet on the burner and lets it heat up. She opens the raw sausage and places it in the skillet. She breaks it up as it starts cooking.
Stella sat nearby watching Charlotte as she cooked. She always loved watching her wife cook. Between the two of them, Charlotte was the better cook. She was amazed at how domesticated Charlotte was. She knew cooking was how Charlotte relaxed.
“Are these the cookies you baked?” Stella spotted the cookie jar sitting on the counter near her.
“Yep, Jamie and I made a bunch of cookies for family and friends. Your favorite cookies are in there.” Charlotte her wife loved soft pecan cookies and rum balls.
“Oh, you shouldn’t have told me that.” Stella lifts the cookie jar and looks inside. She finds several of the rum balls her wife told her about.
A smirk appears on Charlotte’s face as she continues to cook. She continues to cook the sausage and add flour and milk to the skillet. She mixes it and turns the heat to low so as not to burn it. She didn’t drain the grease from the cooked sausage. She liked the flavor it added to the gravy.
She slowly stirs the mixture, until it starts bubbling. Charlotte adds some cracked pepper and crushed chill flakes. Her wife loved hot and spicy stuff.
When the oven was up to temp, Charlotte put the cookie sheet into the oven. She knew it wouldn’t take long for the biscuits to bake.
Stella eats four of the rum balls. She could taste the Jamaican rum her wife used in the recipe. She knew her wife’s taste in liquor.
Once breakfast was ready, Charlotte and Stella sat down at the kitchen table and enjoyed their meal. While they are eating, Stella looks at her wife “So, will I get a chance to meet your brothers?”
“Yes, and I know they will love to meet you. My flight isn’t for two days.” Charlotte didn’t know when her wife was flying back.
“Cool.” Stella helps her wife clean up and steals a few more rum balls from the cookie jar.
As they were walking into the living room, Stella wondered where Jamie was.
“So, where is this Jamie person at?”
“She’s spending Christmas with some friends.” Charlotte sits down on the sofa.
“Cool, I would like to meet her before we head back. I hope you don’t mind, but I added your grandmother’s house to my life’s trust.” Stella looks at Charlotte’s eyes.
“That’s fine. I trust you and what is mine is yours as well.” Charlotte leans in and kisses Stella.
Stella returns the kiss and enjoys feeling her wife’s lips against hers. She missed coming home to her wife and decided to fly out to her. “So, have you given up on your parents?”
“Yes, they are to set in their ways, and no matter what I do to try to heal the rift between us. They don’t want to. So, I’m giving up and if they change their minds, then we’ll see how things go.”
“Well, parents can always be stubborn.” Stella knew some of her family members could be hard-headed.
“I’ve never seen any of your family act like mine.” Charlotte loved Stella’s family.
“Oh, there are some hard-headed people in my family. Remember, most of my family have Irish blood in their veins and at times the Irish temper comes out.”
“Well, I love your family.” Charlotte loves Stella’s relatives.
“I’m glad.” Stella was happy being with her wife.
