A friendly place to read, write and discuss Transgender Fiction.
Home of 3000+ chapters of Easy as Falling off a Bike by Angharad and many other stories.
I'm going to use this as a place to discuss search, how to use it and what people want to use it for.
A few things:
When you use multiple words in a search, the default is to perform an OR search. Searching for curly perm will turn up both curly and perm and will list first results that have both terms.
Searches are case insensitive. Perm, perm and PERM are all the same.
Searches are made for roots, so perm, perms, permed and perming are all the same. But permanent is a different word.
A plus symbol in front of a word in a search means that word is required so curly +perm will return only results that have some form of perm in them and will prefer ones that have curly, also. +curly +perm results must have both words though not necessarily next to each other.
A minus sign means do not include the following word in results so perm -curly would return results that matched perm but would not include ones that also had curly.
Quotes around a phrase will search for an exact match, but will still ignore case. "curly perm" will match Curly perm and lots of variations but both words in that order must be present.
Comments are regarded by search as part of the post.
The sidebars allow you to restrict searches to posts that match various criteria, like type of post, audience rating or authorship. At the top right is a sidebar that allows you to control how the search indexer orders results.
When we upgrade to Drupal 7, this will all change a bit but not drastically.
You can use this thread to ask questions and make comments about search.
Crazy Core Gym, Upper East Side, New York:
Teela and Emily arrive at the address they were given. They looked at the building in front of them and couldn’t believe that it used to be some sort of warehouse.
“Are you sure you have the right address, Teela?” Emily looks at her friend.
“I’m sure. This is the address Jester gave me. She also gave me the entrance code as well.” Teela walked into the small foyer and noticed there was a metal keypad with black numbers and letters.
In this chapter, Emily navigates a day filled with grief and reflection as she bids farewell to her mother. Amidst the weight of the occasion, small moments of kindness and support from those around her offer glimpses of comfort and strength, helping her take the first steps toward healing.
Brian never wanted to be a girl, but when you have an actress for an older sister, a HUGE resemblance to her, and then throw in an agent who would do pretty much anything to get a contract — it was better to go with the flow, wasn't it?
(I was told of a snafu with the name of Jenna’s therapist and her Grams. This has been fixed in edit in #14. Dr.Wilson’s first name is now Marley. Thanks Eric.)
It’d been three months and I’ve had two more dreams. The first one was me living in Louisiana. It was hot as hell there and I woke effected by the heat, my sheets sweated through and curled into a ball crying my eyes out until my mom can in and tried to calm me down.
The cooler we’ve just hauled out to the car signals the end of our
preparations–everything is packed in the car and ready to go. I can hardly wait
until morning when, finally, we will be on our way. I realize that I’m looking
forward to heading to the mountains with almost as much anticipation as I would
if I were still Chris. The thought of hiking to the top of the mountain
overlooking the lake really appeals to me as does spending some time in the
canoe with a fishing pole. It’s been a long time since I’ve done either.
Of course, doing it with Andy really adds to the appeal.
On the flip side, hanging out while waiting for Rana & Co. to drop the other
shoe will be nerve-wracking.
Everyone left after the movies were done with and it still took an hour of nice tears and hugs and getting thanked for such a wonderful night and exchanges of phone numbers and dishing out left overs.
Billy’s girls name is Dallas as it turns out and she’s another person this turned out to be a first for. “I wanted to thank you guys for inviting me and Billy over here. I’ve never had a meal or a night like this before.”
“Me neither it’s a first for me too.”
“Uhm, thanks for the left overs too. Home made foods a real nice change.”

Desperately Seeking Identity
for Kelly by Andrea Lena DiMaggio something simple is the key
Only love will set us free
It's so far, it's so near
Almost close, almost here.
Set in The Professor’s Deity Arms universe, a businessman, ruined and disgraced by his partner and by his lover, is rescued from suicide by the mysterious Mr. Logan. (With an introduction by The Professor.)
I wasn't crazy about the idea, but my sister had a way of talking anyone into doing anything. She often had me doing things that I was more than a bit apprehensive about.
She got me to dance, which I considered to be more than a little bit 'Girly'. She'd play Mom's old 45's. The 'Big Bopper', Buddy Holly, Hell, even 'Kookie' Ed Byrnes! from "77 Sunset Strip". She had this entire routine choreographed to "Kookie, Kookie, lend me your comb". It was Hilarious!!!
It’s a long walk back along the cliffs to Bosherston, The wind was at my back and my hair was streaming out, showing me the way home. I could get a lot of my bits and pieces onto the bike, and it was only a short ride back to Pembroke railway station.
I remember when it started. It was a Saturday in the September of my eighth year. My sister had a nine o'clock dentist appointment and my brother was spending the weekend with friends. I should have been able to sleep in, but Dad got a call from work. He worked in the maintenance department and something had gone wrong with the compressor and it had to be fixed before Monday at six a.m. He woke me at eight and told me that he had to leave and it would be up to me to get the Goodwill bags out on the porch for the Boy Scouts by nine.
The Martian Manhunter and Miss Martian characters are the property of DC Comics.
"Okay, let's see. Two Glock 19's? Oh, please, that's a purse gun -- two submachine guns, H&K MP5's, nice choice -- where are you guys getting these things? Assorted ammo. No explosives -- good boys -- and a bunch of zip tie handcuffs. No masks, though. Why is that?"
I looked up at the men, expectantly. I had their heads seriously messed up. It was obvious they couldn't decide whether to run, or stick it out.
Bald Guy produced a nasty-looking knife. "That's no business of yours, girlie. Don't ya know who we are?"
I pulled a few of the zip cuffs from out of the bundle. "Oh, I know you. You're a couple of the Cartel's disposable soldiers…"
Then I gave him a feral grin. "But -- you don't know who I am."
