My muse has been kind. More of Morgan's first day in High School.

The rest of the day I got more odd looks and the occasional question from other kids. Obviously word was spreading.

It was mostly girls with the questions. And I was indeed getting tired of the same ones over and over.

The looks seemed fairly evenly split between guys and gals, though more of the guys tended to have the looks that implied trouble in the future.

A few of the girls seemed to figure I was ok, in spite of my oddity. At least they were willing to talk to me in spite of it. One was in several of my classes. Christine (call me Chris) Watt. We'd gotten to talking in the first one we shared and had compared schedules.

She came up to me in the hall as we approached English class (which I knew we shared).

"So, I hear you're a guy?"

We had a day to play with before the drive back to Caen, and after the boys had recovered we allowed the children to show us the bits of Paris they had liked best, which included the view of the city as night fell, from the only viewpoint imaginable.

“Open your heart!” Rang out from a tenor voice that was well off-key but enthusiastic just as lightning flashed nearby. “Open your heart!” it rang again as the peal of thunder roared loud enough as to, almost, drown out the singers voice. “Open your heart! To eternal dimension!” It sang again, and then grunted as, synchronously, the soft metallic thud of a shovel hitting dirt could be heard. “Open your heart! For love and affection,” the distinctive sound of dirt being thrown into a trash can. “Open your heart! Your every emotion,” and a flash of lightning. “Open your heart! For tears and rejection!” Thunder crashed as the “n” could be heard.

Chapter 13

I lower Shaya’s hand and I smile and pull her into a kiss. I really love kissing this woman. So I make it long and slow and sweet just kind of pouring all that lover, and that whole soft sexy girl on girl thing into it. I’ve had a long time with the fantasies that have been in my head most of my life and while Shaya’s had them too there’s a lot of her buried under the hammering that being Illian had done to her soul.
