In this chapter, Emily finds herself thrust into the cold, unyielding environment of a police station, the weight of her actions pressing down on her with every step. The harsh fluorescent lights and the relentless questions amplify her fear, leaving her wondering what comes next. But just when the walls feel like they’re closing in, Emily’s world takes an unexpected turn.
John was pissed that he died on the beach at Normandy.
It was June 6, 1944 and to say Private John Burton was unhappy would be an understatement. Even though he had heard General Eisenhower's speech on the radio, he really wanted to be elsewhere. Not that he wasn't a red-blooded American and not that he didn't grasp the importance of the mission. It's just that he was convinced there was a German bullet with his name on it. It was a feeling he just couldn't shake. All the trouble his parents went through to raise him, scolding him into good behavior, getting onto him to make good grades. And then all the money and effort Uncle Sam went through to prepare and train him for this exact moment, everything his life was moving towards would come to a wasted end on a beach in France he'd never heard of. He just knew it. And he was mightily annoyed about it.
Being annoyed couldn't describe how John felt when not even ten feet from the landing craft onto the sands of the beach before being cut down by German machine gun fire. Talk about being angry as he fell onto the sand...
And then even more angry when he woke up in another time and place as a naked teen girl...

An erotic tale of lust, greed and transformation on the Gilded Coast as a young man looking for a sugar mama finds out what life is like as an object of desire.
The situation around LA seems as bad or perhaps worse than a disaster movie. At least with a movie you can detach yourself by it being make believe. What is going on right now is real and there really are people dying. I had expected the death toll to be higher and perhaps it will be. I wonder how many people will die because of smoke inhalation.
In the Portland, Oregon area I have noticed some haze, and upon inquiry it seems that the weather prognosticators expect the smoke to come up here eventually.
I could have sworn that I had posted Bebe: A Disney Wedding - Day 2 / Epilogue up already. I looked and looked and couldn't find it. So I went back, dug it back up and here it is now.
Emily's world is a whirlwind of chaos, pressure, and emotional storms. At school, she faces relentless humiliation; at home, a stifling environment offers no solace. With each moment piling on more weight, Emily struggles to navigate a day where emotions run high and resilience is tested to its breaking point. This chapter delves deep into the fragility of adolescence, the complexities of family, and the simmering power of unspoken courage.
I started using Grammarly, https://www.grammarly.com , three years ago as a spelling checker for my Apple computer. It was cumbersome but effective. As time has passed, it has become streamlined and works everywhere I write.
If you scroll through the list of my stories, and realize that Games without Frontiers is missing, do not panic.
I havent given up on the story, to the contrary, I am working on a polished version.
Because unpublishing also means I have lost the comments on the preview, I want to make sure to thank everyone who took the time to leave a comment. They mean the world to me.
I just thought having the preview up and a finished version (once I have actually finished it) up might cause some confusion.
In this chapter, Emily navigates the challenges of coming out as gender fluid while facing relentless bullying from Trevor, whose cruel taunts escalate in and out of school. Despite the overwhelming humiliation, Emily finds solace and unwavering support in their best friend, Jasmine, who stands up for them at every turn. As Emily grapples with fear and self-doubt, a spark of determination begins to grow, hinting at resilience in the face of adversity.
You may have seen news about fires in Southern California near where Melanie and I live. This is just a note to say, well, they are not that near, forty to fifty miles away at least and while we have had a bit of smoke pollution, that has not been too serious so far.
There have been power outages nearby, but even that has been avoided locally. The area is mostly desert mountains and not inclined to burn, though there are forests within 10 to 20 miles. We'll try to keep everyone informed.
In this chapter, Emily braves the first days of eighth grade, battling relentless insecurities, cruel whispers, and the sting of poverty. Amidst the humiliation and loneliness, an unexpected ally, Jasmine, offers a small but powerful gesture of kindness, giving Emily a fragile hope to hold onto.
A group of people wake up in a video game world and are forced to work together to survive and find out how to escape.
Artemis completes the mission with the help of an ‘ally?’
Chapter 15 Recap.
It hesitates, its tone softening even more. “I want what you want, Artemis,” it says. “To survive to thrive. To protect those you care about. But to do that, we need, each other.”
Trapped in a suffocating cycle of control and neglect, in this chapter, Emily struggles to endure the relentless demands of her mother. Each day brings backbreaking chores, bitter compromises, and the gnawing ache of isolation. As she clings to fading memories of the Carters and whispers promises of escape, a fragile spark of defiance begins to grow within her, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the bleak monotony of her world.
In this chapter, the tension is palpable from the start. A morning filled with sharp words and heavier silences leads to an unexpected confrontation at the door, where deep emotions and conflicting loyalties collide. The air is thick with fear and frustration, as the protagonist struggles against the weight of control and the desperate hope for something better. Fleeting moments of kindness provide a fragile anchor, but the storm of anger and power leaves no room for escape. The chapter unfolds with raw intensity, capturing the suffocating reality of a world where every choice feels like a risk.
I'm looking for questions people in the Angel universe would ask Aaron/Malak. (I already have "What do you wear under those robes?" :-)
I can't guarantee to use any suggested questions, or even to give answers to the questions I use. Don't worry if the questions are inane or serious; I can use both.
"Magic?" Laura repeated. "If you mean like stage magic, then no.
And it's not a joke. I mean, at the prices they charge,
it's not a joke that could go very far."
Cassiel was helping Turiel to his feet when Krux’s military force finally swarmed the cavern, his soldiers bursting through the steel doors or clambering over the broken stones of the walls. Seeing three angels as the only ones moving, they didn’t know what to do. Deciding it was safer to simply leave us alone, they spread out to check the numerous cultists unconscious or dead splayed messily across the cracked tiles.
Does anyone know if author Bailey Summers is alive or not? The last posting from Bailey we have is a story named Vows dated 2023/05/30 - 8:21pm. No contact since. I am worried :*(
I emailed a response to Sephrena earlier today in response to some comments, and especially one from this site and I felt very compelled to respond to.
This is how I mentally imagine Kim to look like and act like while drumming. I will never see those scenes of Kimmie waking up each morning to a red bull and drumming to Rush's Tom Sawyer the same way again.
In this chapter, Emily grapples with her mother’s neglect and irresponsible behavior, leading to a heated confrontation. Seeking refuge, she finds comfort and kindness at a neighbor's home, where she experiences a stark contrast to her chaotic life. Faced with a choice, she decides to stay with the neighbors, marking a pivotal step toward finding stability and safety.
I, my good friend Paul, a couple passing acquaintances, and several other people who were complete strangers to me were convinced by various of our friends to help them run one of those interactive entertainment events. We didn’t know our friends were associated with such a thing, nor had we ever heard of this one. We were invited to a free run-through of the event so that we would know how it was supposed to work.
I see severe winter marching across from Kansas to DC. Please stay safe, our sisters and brothers in its path, and preferably under cover and off the roads. The temps and snowfall make our disruptive UK winter weekend a mere shower by comparison.
Hey BC Family! I was kicking around the idea of starting the New Year off with a running challenge for our authors, which would work as kind of a daisy chain. Let me know what you think.
This is a story I did a few years ago and posted on Sapphire's. It's an attempt at Science Fiction and Adventure. At the time I wrote it, I had never read any of the Gor books. Now that I have, I'm surprised at some of the similarities.
The story is about Bill, who, through a travesty of justice gets involved with a dying boy. With the help of the boy's late uncle's writings, Bill is pulled into a strange, savage world.
"Wh-what?!" said the man, scandalized. "That's outrageous! We're not child stalkers! We're agents of the US government, here looking for known lawbreakers you're sheltering!"
