Curtain Fall - Chapter 19

My name is...well actually I should say I was born with the name of Trevor Marks. I know not the best, but then again not the worst. My mother Louise Marks is, I should say was, of mennonite/hudderite background. I have never met my grandparents.

To explain that, you have understand my mother a bit. When she was young she fell in love with the idea of teaching, in a school, that was not in the "community". She left with my father, who I have never met nor know his name, and after going to a "heathen" university for her degree, took up teaching.

Chapter Five - Endgame

Penelope and Randy's relationship becomes more complicated as Penelope exposes corruption at the highest levels. The police chief is forced to take drastic action which brings the story to a climax.

Galen stood alone in the hospital in Roanoke. He’d had the opportunity to travel with a team of experts to aid in figuring out what Edward Watt knew about Bug, but he’d chosen to travel alone to meet Edward and his family. According to eyewitnesses, at the party trap that the Destructors had set for the girl, Edward had been ordered to pick Bug up off the ground. Immediately, for a few brief moments, they’d entered what witnesses described as some sort of vision.

 

“What the...?” Dave exclaimed to the empty house.

You could almost cut the tension in the room with a butter knife. The last hour and a half had been the most intense, soul-crushing, mind-numbing one of my life. Once I had arrived, I had found myself surrounded by nurses and more than a few doctors. The doctors and nurses wasted no time in rushing me back to the exam rooms. And they wasted no time in drawing blood, X-Ray’s were ordered and they finally poked an IV tube in my arm. And they started me on drips. I don’t really know, once the IV was put in, everything became quite sluggish.

Mike was asked to cover a shift by a knowing friend on their birthday. Because the scheduling boss made an incorrect assumption, he ended up being something he could only dream of.

"You must live here," I commented trying to maintain my composure because those 'To-kill-ya' shots were now making me feel a little fuzzy.

“When is it going to stop raining?” Becky was under a rock ledge watching as the rain came down in buckets.

Everyone had taken shelter under the rock formation at Uluru rock. Tammy and her group managed to reach it early in the morning before the rain started to come down. They had been forced to come by themselves, without Jaxon guiding them. He left on the second day, during the night, saying he would meet them at Uluru rock.

Chapter Three - Tunnel

Penelope is disappointed to be working in the evidence room instead of patrolling the streets but it gives her the opportunity to investigate her father's murder. She has an interesting encounter with a sexy mature woman and is finally allowed to go out on patrol with a hunky police Sargent.
