“Skot, send some men out to each side. Tell them to go out as far as they can while keeping the column in sight.” Captain Kalhoun ordered. “I want them to check in with an officer every five hundred count. Galyway, form up ranks around the royal carriage.” Rikki turned to Edwyn. “You found the cavalryman unconscious next to his tethered horse?”

There’s no response from Andy while the girls are gallantly attempting to hold back giggles.

“Are you okay?” I ask him.

I see his brain starting to reboot, as he stammers, “You… you… like, you’re amazing. I mean, like, you look absolutely gorgeous, Tina. I know you always look good, but… wow!”

I believe we’ve achieved our objective. The poor boy is stunned.

First a few words, I did not write the first version of this story, this is merely an unauthorized rewrite of the original. JR wrote the original version and the basic idea’s, plot, and setting belongs to JR, not me. I took the liberty to make any changes I saw fit to make this story more to my liking. I changed the names of those involved but the plot remains basically unchanged. Any and all continuations are my work but based upon the work of JR, not mine. So without further adieu I give you “The Vampiress: 12,000 Words”!

Bishop sits in a strip club, alone in a crowd and wondering what comes next. It's three fifteen a.m. on a rainy night in Bay City; he catches his reflection in the mirror over the bar and wonders how events conspired to find him warming a barstool in a place like this. A friend once said that his smile made it seem like he saw the whole world as a joke to which only he knew the punch line.

And it’s true. Until yesterday, Bishop’s life was everything he could hope for, and the smile was his way of acknowledging how things had always seemed to fall his way. But not tonight. The grin is gone, the joke has fallen flat, and our hero is waiting for the other shoe to drop. Because they always do.

That is cruising as on a ship not on the look out for a woman of the night. Shame on you if you thought such things. :)

Rob and Paul had been friends for many years, they had been to college together, had at one time worked together, but mostly they just spent time with each other, going to a match, going to the gym, spending a weekend walking in the hills. Just fairly ordinary pursuits, for a couple of blokes. They also went on holiday together, this was usually an activity holiday, skiing, sailing, surfing, cycling, whatever took there fancy and they had not done before.
