Writing a Script

Some people are more comfortable writing in something like a script format, although it’s a very difficult form to get right, and even more difficult to read, because it places many demands upon the reader, and most readers would much rather see a story with most of the hard work already done for them. Very few readers actually enjoy reading scripts, unless they're very familiar with the conventions used, and most such people are former actors, well-accustomed to fleshing out a rôle extemporaneously. That's why one rarely finds them on the bookstands in supermarkets or airports.

By controlling the earth's oil and its major trade routes, they plan to bring the world to its knees. Then, when the entire world is kneeling, the Faithful of Allah will read to them from the Koran, preaching the message of Islam, the True Faith. The Faithful will stop at nothing to achieve their goal. But how far will they go? And how many lives will it cost?

One resident of Blackstone is observed as he goes to work in the morning, nearly every morning. But is rarely seen coming home in the evening, before publicly eating. How is this possible? A mystery to most in Blackstone, at least until Julina solves it.

The only thing worse than being pressured into participating in a womanless beauty pageant, is to finish in last place. The ramifications of that experience turned out to be life changing, for Miss Bobby.

Chapter 15

I take a few sips of my water and I check myself out in the mirror and try to ignore the looks for the other girls there. Honestly I’m sort of glad for the Scarlet super-heroine thing, I’m actually very comfortable in the leotard I’m wearing even though I’m still getting uses to the skirt they have us wearing with it and the legwarmers.

“Next!” The stage manager yells. “Thirty seven!”

Oops that’s me.

I go out on the stage and it’s bright they’re shining the house lights down on us and I can’t see the people in charge. I hear another voice. “Okay start!”

“Uhm…high I’m doing…” I get cut off by some woman out in the seats.

“We’ll figure it out, just start!”
