Another little chapter that brings another 24 beings to the house: Dawn.

Chapter 17 –

After Lois and Dan got to the house in early afternoon, Daisy told them that they were to stay as long as they wanted. There was a fantastic aroma in the house while Willow’s first batch of bread was baking. She had left it in the oven when she went over to the store to cover the two evening buses, and Daisy took it out of the oven.

Alyss returns home for Thanksgiving, only to find that her daughter's past sins have come back to haunt them.

Leah had promised to keep a secret that I liked wearing girl clothes and makeup when I was with her, we were hiding it from her mom so that she wouldn’t make any weird ideas in her head or tell my parents, which was the thing that worried me the most. I was already 3 months in my online classes and I was killing it, I could arrange my study schedules and just take the exams, which I was managing to do just fine.

“ Sure thing, Babe.” We pulled into a drive in spot. Looking over the menu.

“ Do you know what you want?” He asked.

“ Yeah, BLT on wheat with mayo, Frys and a coke.”

“ OK,” He ordered. We chatted while we waited for our food. The car hop on skates no less. Brought our food. Greg paid. He handed me my sandwich with frys. I set my drink on the center console.

“ How is your dinner?” Greg asked.

Unladylike I said, “ Good” with a mouthful.

Swallowing. “ I'm so sorry, that wasn't very ladylike, It is good” I apologized.

Louis Geintz had just wrapped up his famous Psychic ethics discourse, It’s a topic every student in his class would at some point need to face, and likely agonize over, because undoubtedly they’ll each need to decide whether to ‘cross the line’ or not.

The Muse dropped this on me tonight. There wasn't time before Halloween to edit it after a waiting period. I hope it worked all right anyway.

So, a small interlude into the mindset of two very different artificial intelligences, with a bit from a third. It's not much, but please enjoy.

The town was busier than it had ever been before, new people were coming in to offer their help for the upcoming siege. Some were fighters, some were folks who could act as support in various ways, repairing weapons and other items, making bandages and other supplies. There were even folks who were making large amounts of simple foods that would last for quite a while, ensuring that everyone would eat.

Filas looked Kim in the eyes. Kim looked Filas in the eyes. Then, at the same moment, they approached each other with a few, large steps and embraced each other in a close hug, the first one they’d ever shared. The first time they were physically close. The first time they got to smell each other’s odour. And that in one of the most unlikely places and at the potentially most unlikely time.

“Umm”, the man who had addressed Filas before dragged them back into reality way too soon, “whatever you two are doing there, you should continue once we’re out of here…”

“We’…,” Seeing feet behind the rising garage door, Jim hit Ronda’s seatbelt release and yanked her down in the seat. Not a second too soon as the windshield exploded in a hail of lead from an automatic rifle.
