With a second wind, Swan Diva resumed fighting to help push back the mask bearers. Captain Patriot finally sat back at the end of his first. Near boundless energy, that one, just like his father said once or twice.

Pixeletta’s voice came over the earpiece, “Is anyone else near ‘The E?’ I spotted someone dressed suspiciously. Approaching now.”

Suspicious how? An uneasy feeling hit the pit of Swan Diva’s stomach.

“Excuse me, miss, are you lost?”

CHAPTER 34
There was a lot more discussion, but in the end, it was quite a simple process, if long-winded. Bennett agreed to send everything necessary to the Cannock house, where Dad would arrange for Carol or Pete to pick up the mail and forward it to one of our safe places on the road.

“Will she be able to apply for a provisional licence now? Start driving and that?”

“I can’t see why not, Mr Petrie. She’s old enough, and you have a permanent residence, even if you don’t actually seem to reside there very permanently. Forms are in any Post Office. You will just need to put her on your insurance, of course"

Adamast Cross said, “Sir, we need to get you to safety.”

Striga Island had its own share of trouble, off to the east of Paragon’s mainland, but it was nothing compared to the city most days. War Lagoon knew this. He counted on it about as much as being able to find a few smalltime heroes on patrol who were willing to help out with the increasing efforts across the sea.

He met two sibling heroes chatting at the docks who looked bored. It didn’t take much convincing to ask them to come along before he left.

CHAPTER 24 - First she crawled, then she walked, now today she has learned to fly.

Gina, Anika, and Carla watched from the van they were in as another building belonging to the Hunter organization collapses in on itself. That was the fourth building Gina had rigged to implode on itself.

“How many more buildings are we going to have to destroy. Before the Hunter organization gets the message that they are fucking with the wrong family?” Gina just looks at the rubble left behind.
