Stormy Weather

A word from our sponsor:

has affected huge swathes of the UK this week, 100mph winds in places!

Fortunately its not been so bad here in the South West, but winds in excess of 30mph are still not much fun for outdoor pursuits! Partly as a result of that my walk on Monday was fairly short but, as i posted on Monday, that does mean that i did more writing and started the process of getting something new in print. That new is the story i've been working on through July, May Queen, which uses a fairly popular theme but with, i hope, a few interesting twists and turns. Here's the cover blurb:

'When Johnny Baker bid the girl of his dreams farewell after school he never dreamt it would be the last time he'd ever see Amanda. Her death was tragedy enough but she was to be the village May Queen which has left the village elders in a fix that only Johnny can get them out of. Can he step up, will he step up?'

This is part 1, i'll be continuing with part 2 which i expect to be the the conclusion, as soon as, even this afternoon. There is a direct link via the image below.

But that's not all, you can now get my first audio book, A Gaby Compendium: The stories you haven't heard as an audible book, yep, even if your eyes are not so good you can still enjoy nearly 16 hours of Gaby direct to your ears!

I'll be interested in feedback from this release, if folk like it, i'll start the process of releasing more books in this format. I do try to keep the prices of my releases low but this does have consequences for me. Firstly, Amazon have recently changed their Royalty rates, items under €10 now earn 10% less than those over, great for Amazon, not so great when that income is your means to survival. When sales have dropped through the floor already since February, this has led to a catastrophic effect on my income, as a result i need to review my prices so if you were thinking of making a purchase, do so soon to get the best price! (my forecast income through to October is €30 a week, a quarter of the pre T level, guess i'd best get used to beans on toast!)

And so to Tuesday, ride day. Well the wind put me off venturing too far afield, i ended up with 66km with a climb rate of over 10m/km, utilising @ 15km of new to me roads/trails, some of which i ended up walking, not wishing to damage the bike or indeed, me! It was quite enjoyable and the highlight of the day was disturbing a Muntjac deer as i headed back into Brizz, no pic, it spotted me and dived into the woodland alongside.

So there we go, a bit more to impart than most midweek posts, i'll return at the weekend with another Gaby chapter, activity reports and updates on life here in Cabotville.

But for now,
Tschussie,
Madeline Anafrid
