Studying To Help The Family Chapter 7

Gina looks around and spots Arabella, Jenny, and Amy waiting for her. A smile forms on her face as she walks towards her daughter and her daughters-in-law.

“What have the three of you been up too?” Gina walks over to her girls.

“Just school and work, Momma.” Arabella hugs her mother when she is close enough.

Jenny is next, and Amy after her. All three girls were happy that Gina Bounty had come to see them. Jenny knew it was all about the drone business Arabella and she bought. The purchase of the business was under Gina’s name, but Arabella was the true owner. They did it that way for the government clearance they needed.

Gina returns the hugs to all three girls. She wonders if Arabella picked up the vehicle she requested.

“How about I treat you girls to some lunch and catch up?” Gina was hungry; she didn’t eat any breakfast before she left the house.

“Sounds good, Mom.” Arabella leads her mother, Jenny, and Amy out to the SUV they arrived in.

“Do you want to drive, Mom?”

“Nah, you can drive, sweetie. We’re going to Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar.”

“That’s a nice place, Mrs. Bounty.” Jenny had heard about it.

“Well, if any of you girls ever want to go there. Call them up and tell them you’re related to me.” Gina had an investment in the restaurant.

“Thanks, Mrs. Bounty,” Amy answers for all of them.

“Please, Amy, you’re my daughter-in-law. Call me either Mom or Gina.” Gina looks at Amy sitting behind her.

“Yes, ma’am.” Amy was still getting used to being in a three-way marriage.

While they were driving towards the restaurant. They spot a three-car accident on the interstate. They could hear gunshots being fired. While they are waiting in the SUV, Gina spots a small woman wearing medical scrubs trying to get to a downed highway police officer. The woman was using the cars around her for cover.

“Amy, grab my vest from the hidden compartment, please.” Gina turns around to face Amy.

“Yes, ma’am.” Amy turns around and opens the secret compartment in the back of the SUV.

“Do you want a gun, Gina?”

“No, I have my own.” Gina accepts the vest and puts it on.

“Mom, are you going out there?” Arabella looks over towards her mother.

“Yes, sweetie. That nurse needs protection, so she can help the trooper. You girls stay here and don’t leave the safety of this SUV.”

“Yes, ma’am.” Arabella knew not to disobey her mother.

Arabella watches as Gina slips out of the SUV and fires at the person attacking the nurse. Gina moves quickly towards the nurse.

“Your mother scares me sometimes.” Jenny watches as Gina fires her gun to protect the nurse.

“I know what you mean. But I wouldn’t want anyone else for a parent.” Arabella loved her mother.

Gina makes her way to the nurse. She taps the woman on the shoulder, “Get ready to move.”

Winona jumps when she feels someone tapping her on the shoulder. She looks towards the oriental woman kneeling next to her.

“Who are you?”

“Just a friend. Get ready to move to the trooper.” Gina watches for the shooter.

She fires a few rounds towards the person and hits them. Gina covers the nurse as she moves to help the downed officer. “Stay here.”

“Okay.” Winona watches as the woman moves like a shadow between the cars.

Arabella, Jenny, and Amy watch as Gina moves to help the nurse get closer to the downed trooper. They also watch as Gina disappears among the cars.

“Do you think Gina is alright?” Amy was concerned about Gina.

“Don’t worry, my mom is very sneaky.” Arabella knew Gina had spent a year overseas working with Grandpa’s special team.

All three girls hear several more gunshots, and after a while, Gina comes walking back towards them. There was blood on her vest. “MOM!”
Arabella had jumped out of the SUV when she saw her mother.

“It’s not my blood, sweetie.” Gina starts taking her vest off.

“Thank goodness.” Arabella was relieved that her mother didn’t get hurt.

The last thing she wanted to do was let her father or grandfather know her mom got hurt. She was so thankful that her mother was back, safe.

“CHP said that it's going to be a while before they open the interstate. So, you girls might as well get comfortable.” Gina figures that by the time
they start moving, it was going to be close to dinner time.

“I hate L.A. traffic.” Jenny couldn’t believe they were going to be sitting for a while.

After a few hours, the traffic starts moving. Arabella drives towards the restaurant and parks in the parking lot. All four of them head inside, and before they order their food. They go to the bathroom to relieve themselves.
