I'm going to use this as a place to discuss search, how to use it and what people want to use it for.
A few things:
When you use multiple words in a search, the default is to perform an OR search. Searching for curly perm will turn up both curly and perm and will list first results that have both terms.
Searches are case insensitive. Perm, perm and PERM are all the same.
Searches are made for roots, so perm, perms, permed and perming are all the same. But permanent is a different word.
A plus symbol in front of a word in a search means that word is required so curly +perm will return only results that have some form of perm in them and will prefer ones that have curly, also. +curly +perm results must have both words though not necessarily next to each other.
A minus sign means do not include the following word in results so perm -curly would return results that matched perm but would not include ones that also had curly.
Quotes around a phrase will search for an exact match, but will still ignore case. "curly perm" will match Curly perm and lots of variations but both words in that order must be present.
Comments are regarded by search as part of the post.
The sidebars allow you to restrict searches to posts that match various criteria, like type of post, audience rating or authorship. At the top right is a sidebar that allows you to control how the search indexer orders results.
When we upgrade to Drupal 7, this will all change a bit but not drastically.
You can use this thread to ask questions and make comments about search.
Life has some certainties, birth and death of course, but the rest is a mix of Minestrone and Spaghetti, some of which we have no direct influence over. We can however decide whether we want Parmesan or other seasoning, we can give Gnochi a try, doesn't mean we'll like it but at least we'll know. Gaby has reached just such a point in her life, she knows she likes Pizza, she's not averse to Spaghetti or Lasagne but is Gnochi for her? The Gnochi in this case is doing the singing with BlauHase on a more serious level, as a 'hobby' its fine but could this be a change of career? Well you don't find out without trying so that's just what our heroine is about to find out in this, the 27th book of the Gaby saga.
Against his better judgement, a man gives his wife a very feminine piece
of lingerie for their anniversary. She does not appreciate the gesture and makes
an offer that he takes her up on.
The next story I'm going to share with you was told to me by Junior Scoutmaster Emma Jeanette Pierce. I'm also going to confess I went a little overboard with the name of the story. I don't apologize for it at all though, mostly because it conjures up perfectly the vibe I want to capture with these stories.
The Ghostly Dancer at the Annual Cotillion Ball

The State Troopers waited at their roadblock. All other traffic was diverted. It was just them and the armed fugitives headed their way at high speed in a hot - in more ways than one - muscle car. The brigands could outrun the police ground vehicles, and even the helicopters, but not the radios. The Troopers stood in the afternoon sun, sweaty, tense and edgy, shotguns and assault rifles at the ready.
Department of Justice:
Agent Javon Woods hopes that Abdulmejid's men will be able to capture Marshal Weather and Zoey Hansley. If Ms. Hansley testifies, his involvement with Abdulmejid will come to life. A beeping sound comes from his cellphone. It was a warning that the alarm for his car was going off. He tries to turn it off, but it keeps beeping.
“Damn!” He leaves his office and heads down to the parking garage.

It was Sunday morning and Beth, who'd spent all her waking and sleeping hours as a girl since her mother discovered her secret, was taking extra care with her hair and makeup. She'd borrowed her mum's heated rollers and Debbie's old curling tongs. It wasn't going to plan exactly. Her makeup was easy enough but her hair just wouldn't do what she wanted, though being rather new to girl's hairstyles, she wasn't exactly sure what she wanted.
Shannon O'Reilly was bullied and everything his older sister wasn't. When his sister Sarah gives him a chance to change things through a single wish things don't go as planned.
I Wish: Book 5 Chapter 3
Light and Shadow
By Amethyst
“The dreams I’ve been having!” I sputtered in realization.
A feminised male has sex with his mistress, all is not as it seems.
I followed a young looking mal that was trying hard to keep up with a stern looking woman with a blue rinse. He was carrying four bags of shopping and looked like he was having problems walking in his black shinny stiletto heels.
“Keep up Timmy dear, you don’t want the police to catch you out after dark again. You know what happened last time.”
“But I’m with you mummy, they won’t arrest me again will they?”
For 35yrs the border between the Human Empire and Gorgonzola Empire as remained mostly peaceful. The citizens for the Human Empire of this border region are loyal to the last man, woman, and child to the Empire. It was on one of these worlds that gave birth to a legend. The world of Apollo 6 is one of the harshest worlds within the Empire. One so harsh that only it could claim to be the birth world of James J. Owens, the most feared of Death Dealers. A world that is even now poised to give birth to a new legendary warrior. One who shall be baptized in the blood of the Empire’s enemies. Robert Wolff youngest great grandchild of James Owens’ sister Cecilia Owens.
One thing in my favour during this period was the remnants of my hyperactivity. It now showed up as me being a workaholic. This became evident to the Sea Queen organisers and, in January, I was asked if I would like to sit on the committee for the next event.
It was a late model Corvette – electric blue. It pulled over close to the fountain and the passenger window whirred down.
“Are you Jake?” The question seemed wrong, but this was the redhead in the short black skirt and heels. She was examining her long hair and looked up to speak to him.
“Yes, I am. Who are you?” Her voice was incongruous. Masculine but not completely male.
“To me you seem to be a useless self serving member of the elite whose feet are well and truly on the necks of the oppressed poor. I am no bigot, so I reluctantly admit yes I have loved you for a long time. I say reluctantly because as things stand I find that shameful. You would have to convince me, and I shall give you every opportunity to so do, that you serve some useful purpose to the ordinary folk, or you become a part of my foolish past. A past I shall remember with fondness, but also with embarrassment.”
Living as Lexie was now becoming normal for me, wearing skirts, dresses, and the occasional leggings or women’s trousers was just an accepted part of my daily life, and I rarely thought that I was doing anything out of the ordinary. Was this what I really wanted, to live my life like any other woman, or was I just playing at it, I really needed to seriously consider my future.

CHAPTER 11
That holiday finally came to an end, after a few trips out in the car to see what Mr Edwards called his ‘Specials’, which were a trio of castles ranging from a really picturesque coastal ruin via a huge, square and intact monster of a place to the real destination, a tiny little thing perched on an outcrop on the island with the tidal road, where Alys and I roamed the dunes on the north coast as huge white birds plunged into the sea, wings folded back, and she photographed every flower she couldn’t name. Once again, I was content in her presence, not needing anything more from my life in those moments, but she was keen to talk in between each little burst of nature-naming.
“What are you doing when we get back, Enfys?”
“Helping Dad out till school starts again. It’s what I would be doing if I wasn’t here”
Harry thought he was just making a little joke, but the women in the office weren't laughing.
So they made a little bet and Harry would win if he followed the women's dress code for a month.
