Sorry to have taken so long on the update, but I am still waiting on something in the real world which hopefully will allow me to actually put something together.

Like many writers on this site, I write under a nom de plume, and I'm wondering how this affects my rights to assert ownership over anything I write. How can I assert I am the author of a piece of work when I'm not using my own name?

I'm currently writing a piece which I may consider selling on Kindle. If I do, what's to stop other people copying the text and selling it on one of the other ebook sites, or even publishing it in hard copy?

I'm trying to find a story I read a while back, maybe 2-4 months ago. It's Sci-Fi, about a General returning to Earth to be court martialed for losing a battle to take a planet. The one who organized the defeat was a former academy friend that saved him some 30? years before and was left behind with some other wounded. He was changed by one of his captors into a daughter. They were called elves, and were one of the oldest races in the universe.

This former friend was 'caught' and is travelling with him on a shuttle to Earth. She tells him her story on the way.

Has anyone heard from Sephrena lately. She suddenly disappeared from the site :(

OK, so there is this one with a stunt guy that impersonates a girl and learns to fly with strap on wings. Suddenly it's gone. What happened?

So The Underappreciated kind of ran its course with me. I'm still writing it but its going a lot slower than I would have wanted. So I've kind of put it on the back burner for the moment.

Hey everyone! As you can see yes, I did miss the Christmas Contest deadline. However, that's a story in itself. When the idea first hit me of mixing The Santa Clause and truckers together, I thought of Wren. I knew she'd spent time on the road until health matters prevented it. Now bear in mind besides the usual exchange of comments I never really spoke to her, but you can sorta get to know someone here though the blogs and such.

So I finally got the new chapter of Kit and Kin out, and it has taken some work to pull that off. Between a lot of work on the new story which is up to chapter 12 with 4 chapters posted already, this thing is really going wild. If you are looking for it, it is called Written In The Body and is on fanfiction.net and Archive of our own. It is seriously intense and is pretty long. Over 15k in 4 chapters is a pretty chunky story. This is going to be yet another novel written by me. Le sigh.

Good afternoon (at least in my time zone) and Happy Holidays.

I probably just did the bravest thing I've done in years, just by clicking on the "submit story" button. There were times in the writing of this I was literally trembling in fear. One's first story is probably the hardest, as no one knows you, or what to expect. And you, the author, have no way of knowing what the reaction is going to be.

I spent some time yesterday adding more pics and updating the Christmas Market pages over on my site, MaddyBell.com

I just want to wish everyone a very merry Christmas, and also take a second to thank you all for reading and commenting or leaving me kudos to say you liked what I wrote. I also hope that you all have a wonderful time this festive season and enjoy the new stories I have my wonderful friend and editor SamanthaK proof and post in the new year.

can't recall much, other then it's a boy, who wants to be a girl but as the story progresses, it is found out that he had been born intersexed and at 1 or 2 the family decided he should be a boy. and his sister knew of him as a girl and the father leaves, but comes back in the end

I need two things desperately for my Winter story contest entry, a quick edit and critique, and formatting help, as i have severely bent the board in the past...

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas for everyone who wants it! This is just a friendly note letting everyone know I'm still more or less active, but like so many having a bit of trouble. Personal issues along with yet another computer going belly up on me has sapped my creative energies. Fortunately I managed to save most of my work, I think/hope!, but the odds of me finishing either one of the two Christmas Contest stories I'm working on are getting rather long.

I will try, but no promises.

For your holiday pleasure or need for nerdiness: This relates to a recent story, but also any story with small or shrinking beings/characters. This is just biophysics, no magic used!   The first part was written for something else.

Just letting the few people who are reading "Jake goes for help" that it will be delayed for a bit. Stuck on Chapter 4, and a Jaci/Dottie story popped into my head, and I have to try and finish the story that came out of my last flashback and I have about 6 other ideas trying to get their time too.

Feast or famine when it comes to my muse ....

I happened to look through the notes I have stored on my computer, and came across some ideas I'd like to work on in future, but I'm kind of stuck as to how these stories should resolve themselves. Some are pretty thought-provoking and I'd have to be careful how I ended them. I fear that for some of them, a downbeat ending might be required, which likely would not go over well here. Some thoughts about where I might go with these ideas would be appreciated.
