New story bubbling and brewing

I know I mentioned that I was working on a sequel to 'Hunger Pangs', but my muse being the fickle lady that she is, hasn't exactly been very cooperative. I've started another story set in a new universe. This story is something I've been wanting to write for a long time, but until now I haven't really gotten around to it. Last year, in ancipation that I would be working on the story I posted this blog.

Anyway, I'm currently at 3,900 words. I've written considerably more, but a lot of it was discarded. I am putting the Hunger Pangs sequel on the backburner, but I may write on it here or there (I've got about 6,000 words so far) as I do intend to complete it ast some point.

The story is set on a future earth where humanity has been enslaved by a soldier-race of aliens known as the Kharr. The story's protagonist, Jellfree Briggs, is the head cook at a Kharr research compound who gets caught in the middle of a firefight between the Kharr and a group of human rebels. You all know what site this is so you all know there's going to be a sex change involved, but I'll leave the means by which poor Jellfree transforms a mystery for now.

I've tentatively given the story the title "Battle for Earth: Coalescence" and I'm leaning toward the possibilty of making it the first story of either a duology or perhaps a trilogy. Then again I may just write the whole thing as one long story. It really depends on the length.

I did create a title image for the story here that I'll be using here on BCTS once I post the story. The protagonist's transformation is going to be a little unusual as you might be able to ascertain from the picture below.
