Wishing you a wonderful day tomorrow

Do you remember me? I sat upon your knee. I wrote to you with childhood fantasies.

Well, I'm all grown-up now. Can you still help somehow? I'm not a child, but my heart still can dream.

So here's my lifelong wish - my grown-up christmas list: not for myself but for a world in need.

No more lives torn apart, and wars would never start, and time would heal all hearts, and everyone would have a friend, and right would always win, and love would never end.

This is my grown-up christmas list. This is my only lifelong wish. This is my grown-up christmas list.

Rebecca Anderson's Wild Horses

We have an enormous body of talent with all of the author's here at BCTS. A few days ago, I discovered further proof of this talent when I found this wonderful story by Rebecca Anderson: http://bigclosetr.us/topshelf/title-page/4718/wild-horses-re...

I do not normally make blog posts, preferring to give kudos and the occasional comment; but after reading Wild Horses, I cannot remain silent.

Grover's Christmas Stories

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas for everyone who wants it! This is just a friendly note letting everyone know I'm still more or less active, but like so many having a bit of trouble. Personal issues along with yet another computer going belly up on me has sapped my creative energies. Fortunately I managed to save most of my work, I think/hope!, but the odds of me finishing either one of the two Christmas Contest stories I'm working on are getting rather long.

I will try, but no promises.

SPOILER - Change of Orders Psychologist Commentary

I am writing this because of the large number of comments and private messages I've received concerning the actions and beliefs of the Navy Psychologist in my story, A Change of Orders. If you haven't read the story, and intend to do so, you might want to come back to this later as some of the discussion will give away a significant piece of the challenges laid out for the hero(ine) in the plot. Okay?

For your holiday pleasure or need for nerdiness: This relates to a recent story, but also any story with small or shrinking beings/characters. This is just biophysics, no magic used!   The first part was written for something else.

Writing Update or lack thereof

Since a few people have asked, just wanted to drop a quick update. I started a new project at work that has to be completed before Dec 31, right. That's not a lot of time, suffice to say my life has been work, eat then sleep and then back to work.

Jake goes for help will be delayed

Just letting the few people who are reading "Jake goes for help" that it will be delayed for a bit. Stuck on Chapter 4, and a Jaci/Dottie story popped into my head, and I have to try and finish the story that came out of my last flashback and I have about 6 other ideas trying to get their time too.

Feast or famine when it comes to my muse ....

My Comments.

I'm trying finish Antifreeze for the contest. I've had several delays last week and a power failure so I'm behind and need to catch up so I might be unable to comment on all the wonderful things being said. Just know any comment made between now and then are HUGELY appreciated.
*Great Big Hugs All!*

More ideas, more stories

I happened to look through the notes I have stored on my computer, and came across some ideas I'd like to work on in future, but I'm kind of stuck as to how these stories should resolve themselves. Some are pretty thought-provoking and I'd have to be careful how I ended them. I fear that for some of them, a downbeat ending might be required, which likely would not go over well here. Some thoughts about where I might go with these ideas would be appreciated.

FYI

Just to let you all know, I am still working on the next Kit and Kin. I am tinkering with it but going is slow. Part of the reason is that another story mugged me and is beating me terribly about the head and shoulders. Terpsi is clearly enjoying the idea of writing a love story about Hermione Granger and Ginny Weasley that starts with a torture scene. It's not my fault. Terpsi is a freak.

The long road

Hi folks,

Well everything has been sorted out as well as it can be and I am now settling in after moving to the other side of the country. I am now getting organized and settled in my apartment in Montreal and trying to get an internet connection and such sorted out here. What does this mean for all of you? Well now I have some more time to relax and write and I am almost finished the next chapters of both Bloodlines and Trial and Heiress.

To revise and extend, or not to revise

I've been watching comments from people over the years on stories, and some of the comments are accurately pointing out deficiencies in stories - either things that were implied but not obviously so, or things that could have been added for more description. As an example, I did revise "Customer Service" to add fix for Alison, and it was well received. After posting Dear Jenny, I had to do a small revision to Cousin Trouble to get it to sync up with the story line.

The Underappreciated

After some sage advice from someone on the site, I've decided I'm going to try writing the whole story or in this case, the rest of the story before I post any new chapters. So depending on how long that takes, it might be a while before there's a new chapter of it up here. I'm not saying there isn't going to be any new stories from me in a while, I might throw up a Non-Underappreciated One shot here and there...maybe a Christmas story as well. I did a lot of soul searching the other day after writing my last blog and decided that my Ego is a Big Jerk and I'm NOT listening to him anymore :)

Why Do I Even Bother Anymore

I might sound like a broken record and frankly I don't give a damn anymore. I'm just really tired of writing and not getting any recognition for it. All I have is writing...there's nothing else. The fact that everyone only seems to care about one thing I write or one genre---whether it be The Center, the CRU or the DarkRealms---as soon as I try to do something different, I get nothing for it. I was super excited about writing The Underappreciated. It was new and fresh and I actually enjoyed writing again. Sadly the last few chapters I've posted have done nothing.

O editor, where art thou?

I promised myself--and all of you--that I wouldn't talk about my story or the contest again here, but as with most of my promises, it was a far easier thing to make than to keep.

But I do have a good reason for breaking my promise. I've been spending the last few days--in between medical appointments, Christmas parties, and personal responsibilities--trying to pull together some 17,000 words of story fragments into something coherent. I have enough material in a decent-enough state of completion for the first two installments. From the looks of things, my little story is going to be a novella before I'm through, if not a full-fledged novel.

The Boy Who Wasn't

The story posted today included the tag as being Forced Fem, however I did that so as not to offend some of those who tend not to read stories tagged as such. It's not true that it was forced on the boy unless you consider the fact that it was mother nature that decided for him. Thanks to all that do read it and I hope you enjoyed it. Best wishes for one and all for the holiday and an extended thanks to the staff of B.C. Joe

How your titles effect the way I view your story

I was going to write this in a way where it appeared everyone had the same view I did, but since I don't know how everyone feels about the situation, I will just write on my view of the situation.

Escaped Stories

It's funny how stories tend to get away from you. I came across two things last night that I guess I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often. On Crystal's Cyberboard, there was mention of a TG story site I'd never heard about and clicked on the link. On the site were the first two installments of "The Relucatant Girlfriend" which they never asked if it was okay to post. I guess it's not a big deal since I was still credited and at one time, those stories were on at least six different sites including one translation into French.

Openness on gbl T issues

This is an interesting article from a member of the LDS church. I first saw it on Facebook when a member that I know here in the Portland area posted it. I don't really know how to handle the news, and I hope that those who are passing it around, don't get hurt. So far as I know, the church does not at all understand the issue, but I will say that they seem to be trying harder to figure it out than any christian group that I know. Sure, there was pain and hardship in the past, but I just want to give them a chance and see where this goes.

Motivation

I just wonder if other authors do this, and I find myself doing it often from time to time. When I get to procrastinating or lose my drive to write during the night, I go back and read comments from old stories. Also, since I got into the habit of leaving author notes at the end of my postings, sometimes I go back and read those too.

Lesson learned about story titles

My second story, The Duchess of Arad, was very well received, and that made me very happy! Like many obsessive-compulsive people, I have quirks, and one of those quirks is data, patterns, and figuring out the WHY in things.

I noticed an odd trend in the story stats for Duchess. Chapters 9 and 11 were bypassed quite a bit. I wondered why. It could not be that people hated those chapters, because once you click, love it or hate it, the click was registered as a "hit" regardless.

That's all folks...

After 5 months to the day (which is pretty cool by the way) Transitioning Home is complete. I hope you guys enjoyed the ride. It was a lot of fun to see everyone's reactions. I know it was rough sometimes, but I do hope the happy times balanced that out.

So what did you all think overall?

My 11,000th eBook sold!

Just a heartfelt thanks to all of you who have bought one (or more) of my books. I have just sold my 11,000th Kindle version through Amazon. I have sold a few more through Smashwords and some paperbacks, but without a doubt, Kindle sell better.

Sales have slowed to a trickle through November and December (from 30 a day to about 10 a day) so I have to get busy on the next one of many in the pipe line.

I miss posting stories

I really do miss posting stories. I miss reading comments and I miss seeing my kudo count rise as I click my story page 10 times an hours to see how things are progressing. I live for that sort of validation and I'm getting absolutely none. (Okay, maybe a little as one of my beta readers builds me up).
