Hope's Light (Chapter 1 of 35)

by Erisian

Book 6

If you have yet to read the saga - the tale starts here:

Into The Light

Hope you enjoy!

Part One

Prologue - Bargain

“Are you certain this is the right path?”

Two figures crept down a narrow underground passageway, shoes slipping across shallow puddles lining the curved concrete floor. Their coats, one jet black and the other a lighter brown, flickered in the weak light offered only by a white crystal held forward by the taller and much darker-skinned man.

“They didn’t provide a map, Callas. I told you the same instructions they told me, and your memory is as perfect as mine. If you think we’ve misapplied the sequence, you should’ve spoken up.”

“Hmm.”

Two stories from BCTS in this volume:

Danny's Perdition: It’s the 24th century and Danny has discovered that his work for the government has several times condemned people to termination. The newest suspect has been thoroughly transformed by a department called “Visual Perfection,” and now Danny must do his duty, once again. Would traveling across the continent in an antique machine offer a realistic alternative?

Also included A Dollar Short: Tilford has a dead-end job. The idea that someone would offer him a great position seems alien.

Abandoned Child Chapter 11

Jessie woke-up early the next day, she didn’t hear Maggie crying so she pulls on her mother’s robe and slips on the slippers that had been bought for her, and goes downstairs. She remembers that her aunt and uncle had a patio out back, she unlocks the sliding doors and steps out on the patio. She walks around the backyard for a while then heads back to the patio and sits in one of the dew laden lawn chairs. She watches the sunraise.

Jessie looks up at the sky “mom, did I do the right thing?”

“I think your mom would say you did, Jessie.”

Magic is.. getting an after-credits scene? [6]

After-credits are practically expected these days, as are inevitable sequels used to set up wider universes over time.
Don't blame me, blame Marvel!

That being said, sometimes an after-credit scene or twelve can help soften the blow of a rather abrupt ending, right?

Events unfold including but not limited to:
Not telling!
Nuh uh, you'll have to read and find out!
Okay, okay.. Jeez..

So there's this bit where at least one person reads this part before chapter [5.11] and gets horribly confused in the comments.
You KNOW you want to scroll down and see if I'm right now, don't ya? :)

Arista is.. confident [5.11]

CraterLake1.jpg

A wise, presumably enchanted, group of entrance-ways once sung:
"This is the end, my only friend, the end."

Rather fitting right about now I guess.. or is it?

Events unfold including but not limited to:
Dirt-brown magic splashing on things,
Several (either literal or metaphysical) tug's-of-war,
and Hannah has nothing left to lose!

Do I need to mention how potentially dangerous that last point could be for everyone involved by now?

Laura, part 17

I let out a long, tired sigh as my alarm clock wakes me from a dreamless sleep. It’s been a long summer holiday, but the time has finally come to head back to school. The only difference is that today’s ‘first day of school’ will be my last ever.

"Bleagh!" said Freddy, spitting out the bite of the new cafeteria dish. Naturally, it was something from a standard, US, human school. "That's awful!"

"Such manners!" exclaimed Debbie. "Girl, you really need to work on your social skills!"

Night and Day, part 07 of 12

“I’ll pour three mugs of water, and heat one of them up in the microwave, and then shuffle them around while you’ve got your back turned. Then you look and tell us which one is hot.”

Note 2: Once more, I apologize for the bits and pieces of canon dialogue/narration here and there. But some canon scenes are just too good to change much.

Modern Ball.jpg

In this and future episode’s of Book 2 I have borrowed very heavily from the excellent ‘Sharpe’ series of books by Bernard Cornwell which describe the times, the country and the life in the army perfectly.
I have avoided using any names in those novels but in a few places I have used Major Sharpe as a cameo character.

Relaxation

Relaxation

Like a lot of other guys, my work is something I endure so I have the money to enjoy my weekends, when I can relax.

Although, the way I “relax” is a little different than most guys ...

See, once I get home on Friday afternoon until I have to get ready for work on Monday, I spend the whole time in women’s clothes.

I dont think its a fetish, at least not exactly, because for the most part, I dont get turned on by dressing up.

What I mostly feel is ... at peace.

Free.

Winter's Tale

It's been a while since I added a story or chapter. Life's been busy, I'm in the process of looking for somewhere new to live as my current building is going to be torn down at some point in time later this year, so I might not be posting for a while.

**********

Winter Sasha Belmont loved playing head games with other people. Winter had an older sister, about two years before, Winter noticed one of his sister's blouses in the laundry hamper, snuck it into his room and tried it on. He liked how it felt and had done it many times since then.

Being Different Isn't So Bad Chapter 9

“Becca, there’s a guy here that wants to buy the armored APC in the back.”

August looks down at Rebecca’s feet sticking out from under a car she was working on.

“How much is he willing to pay for it?”

“I don’t know. You never told me how much it was worth.”

“If it’s the one I think it is, its forty thousand. If it is the Russian made one, then it is fifty thousand.”

“Okay sis, thanks.”

August walks off to tell the gentleman in the office how much the American made APC was.

Yep, I can fly (part 7)

What if you could fly? You, know, be a kick-ass superhero whenever you want. That's what happened to college freshman Ned. Though, here's the catch—every time he uses his powers he turns into a woman. Still want to be that superhero?
