Rachel has become fed up on how she is treated and is preparing to stand up for herself. As she concludes that the latest punishment, by being too much actually has empowered her, her Mother is feeling weaker especially with Dad away in London for the week, and worried her child is going to succeed in disrupting her tenuous grip of power. The dichotomy of beliefs in their powers is setting for a storm to rage through the family.

This is an alternative ending to Olivia and Sage Vs. Miss Johnson-which, in itself, is an extended ending to New Home. But if you've read all those, then you should be familiar with the characters.)

Just in case you hadn’t noticed – this is an “Advanced Bru reader” story

My mother had always wanted to have a daughter that she could do all those girly things with. Unfortunately for me I only had two brothers and no sister and since I was the “pretty” one I was IT.

I just hated it when she brought home dresses, skirts, hose … and insisted that I wear it. And all those long hours when she taught me how to apply make-up, make the best of my hair and so on. I cringed every time she brought me to the Salon. It was so embarrassing!

This wasn't helping her writing productivity, but the inside information she got - even just what she could share - was invaluable. Right now, she was in the small office Aaron had recently been assigned at the repository. "Couldn't you find a better teacher than Mannequin?"

"Press?”
"Of course, not much point in a grand opening if no one knows about it eh?” Therese pointed out.
When you put it like that, "I guess not.”

“What the hell happened?” Becky asked as flailed her arms at me.
"It doesn't matter, I don't need him, I don't need him to know-I don't care about him."
“That bad, eh?” Christy asked as we walked away from the school.
I looked behind me a few times as I felt like I was being watched.
“He’s still in the hall,” Christy said as Becky took several steps ahead of me before turning around, her arms still flailing about.
“He has this, like, huge welt on his face! Did you kick the shit out of him?”
“I only got one punch in before Marie stormed the room.”

In her company I felt she had complete control of our budding relationship and when she’d kissed me I didn’t want her to stop.

Connie and Bill decided to take some flowers to Penny’s grave on the anniversary of her death. It was a sad time for both of them.

They’d been up at the crack of dawn and out in one of the fields that Harry had turned into a Wildflower Meadow. As they picked the flowers they both heard a Skylark singing above them. Then a Cuckoo called from the small copse at the end of the field. Finally, a Corn Bunting chased them away from its nest. They smiled at each other. It seemed that all was right with the world just for a short time.

With the flowers sorted into two nice bunches, they travelled to Penny’s grave to pay their respects.
