Chapter 3 - The Pink Bra

Pete spent much of the day on Saturday wondering if that pink bra would still be there when he returned. The Scouts had been drafted as workhorses to move things for the church, they weren't involved in the sale itself, so the day passed mowing the lawn and hanging with Dave and a couple of others at the park. Pretty much what he did most weekends.

Stone sipped on his glass of wine while Judy sat with him, still a little confused. She wanted to tear this man apart—there was no one else in the room to stop her—but she didn’t have the strength for it yet. She wasn’t even cuffed to the chair.

“You should try this wine,” Stone said.

“I’m fifteen,” said Judy.

While passing the minivan I glanced at it. Its polished side was reflecting the wall with graffiti and there was a door. When I turned to the wall there was no door. Then I turned to the minivan and there was I in the mirror and the door behind me. Following myself in the mirror I took small steps toward the door. I felt the wall with my back already. Still looking in the mirror I groped the door and took its knob firmly in my hand. I turned it and the door cracked open but I couldn’t see what was behind it. I pushed it open but I had to step through the doorway to open the door. At the same instant, I was standing again with my back to the wall and there was no minivan.

On his way home from the church, those words from Scouting kept running through Pete's mind. That and he actually had a date with Sheila.

It soon became time for me to start my new life at Abbey Girls’ High School, and I prepared myself with mixed emotions. On one hand I was filled with dread at the thought of going there as a girl and keeping up a pretence all day, every day, with the possibility of being discovered. On the other hand I was determined to make it work to help Josie overcome her problems.

Not What We Expected by Tiffany B. Quinn After talking with the lawyer, I just needed to break the news to my family and friends. But that would wait until after my upcoming discussion with Sandra that evening. The third trimester of my obvious nine month transition had started out with a bang, so to speak. The middle third of the crystal was still blue, but it was surrounded by pink much like a wagon trail circled by attacking Indians in an old Western movie. Somehow, I didn't think that the Cavalry would arrive in time to save the blue.

Chapter 1 - The Rummage Sale

"OK you guys, listen up!"

Pete Zimmerman's attention focused on the Scoutmaster of Troop 36, Boy Scouts of America, which was meeting in the basement the Baptist Church. The meeting was just about over and Ron Brockman, colloquially known as "Brock" to all and sundry, was making his announcements in the vain hope that some of the boys would be listening and maybe even remember some of them.

“Statistically, there’s got to be at least a couple more trans kids at each of our schools, and another hundred-plus trans people in the county as a whole... but at our age, most of them are probably closeted or in denial. That might change once more people knew about the machines and how easy it is to transition now.”

Today was Monday, and that meant it was seven days till the annual 'Summer Carnival' a school-wide celebration that would mark the end of the school year. The dark, stormy days of exam's had passed. I was feeling pretty good about my chances of passing. The week of exams had been like passing through the seven rings of hell. Despite having endured the riggers of exams, and to be honest that had pushed me to my limits. But, somehow I had survived the whole ordeal.
