I'm going to use this as a place to discuss search, how to use it and what people want to use it for.
A few things:
When you use multiple words in a search, the default is to perform an OR search. Searching for curly perm will turn up both curly and perm and will list first results that have both terms.
Searches are case insensitive. Perm, perm and PERM are all the same.
Searches are made for roots, so perm, perms, permed and perming are all the same. But permanent is a different word.
A plus symbol in front of a word in a search means that word is required so curly +perm will return only results that have some form of perm in them and will prefer ones that have curly, also. +curly +perm results must have both words though not necessarily next to each other.
A minus sign means do not include the following word in results so perm -curly would return results that matched perm but would not include ones that also had curly.
Quotes around a phrase will search for an exact match, but will still ignore case. "curly perm" will match Curly perm and lots of variations but both words in that order must be present.
Comments are regarded by search as part of the post.
The sidebars allow you to restrict searches to posts that match various criteria, like type of post, audience rating or authorship. At the top right is a sidebar that allows you to control how the search indexer orders results.
When we upgrade to Drupal 7, this will all change a bit but not drastically.
You can use this thread to ask questions and make comments about search.

“What do you mean you can’t fix it?” I practically yelled at one of the sweetest, kindest, nicest old ladies in this or any other universe.
She blinked at me in her somewhat near-sighted way, sipped her cocoa, and shook her head sadly. “Are you sure you don’t want any hot-chocolate, Andy? Its lovely and warm.”
“Aunty Claire,” I half-groaned, half-growled. “I hate chocolate… and I don’t want to be a girl.” I barely resisted the urge to tell her to stop calling me Andy, a nickname I’ve always hated.

Fate likes to laugh at us. Simple fact of life. It likes to put us through our paces, put snakes in our beds just to see us jump and bananas on the sidewalk just to see us fall down. Fate is laughing pretty hard at me right now.
My name is Andrew Steven Parker. I’m sixteen. I’ve got two, count ‘em, two little sisters; Gracie who’s fourteen and Megan who’s six. Gracie used to look up to me, while Megan used to think I was pretty much useless. It wasn’t that long ago… last week to be specific.

Tom’s senses kicked into overdrive as he and Chuck continued to press not just their lips together but their bodies. The manly touch and smell of his husband made Tom tingle all over and feel warm inside.
‘Tell Chuck the truth about yourself. You’re only postponing the inevitable,’ Tom told himself. He just couldn’t summon the strength yet. He blamed it on the Swan Song mission.
It took all Tom’s strength to avoid breaking down again because of the horrible work he had to do. At night Chuck was the release that kept him sane.
‘You’re using Chuck like a crutch. One day he won’t be there, then what will you do?’
Chapter Eighteen
Synopsis- Ripley makes some vital decisions as tensions rise between rival Yakuzas.
The association started by accident really. Two gay friends, one Gareth a big rugby player, who played at a pro level, and runs a successful property business and has a very confident almost arrogant attitude but is smart enough to know how to use charm to get what he wants. The other Max, is completely the opposite, slight build, did cross country as a schoolboy and knew how to compete but stopped when he left school. His hero is his mother, she has always been there for him, worked to fit around his childhood, was always a stylish woman he was proud to be seen with as he grew past those awkward puberty years. His work career had never really taken off, college qualifications in media studies does not help in the real world, his interests were in art and creating visually interesting effects. When he meet Gareth he was working at a supermarket check out.
You know, when I started my transition, I swore up and down I was still into girls, and it wasn’t going to change. Then I met Max, and suddenly I found my inner flirt.
For example, I know that the boy has a serious foot fetish, and so yesterday went out and get a super pedicure, and then wore the highest heels of my life, with thigh high stockings thrown in for good measure.
The association was formed with the intention of allowing suitable men to live as women. The association takes the attitude that 'if a job is worth doing, it is worth doing well', with this in mind all members shall be required to present and live a full female lifestyle. This does not necessarily mean an ultra feminine look, but at the very least definitely feminine.

From the time Taylor was five, all he could remember was wanting to be Emma’s younger sister.
He loved dressing up in her hand-me-downs. He admired his older sister and really wanted to be her. Halloween was his favorite holiday because he could let his fantasies run wild and be Cinderella or Wonder Woman. And playing make-believe was always fun when he could be the cute little girl.
But, something happened when he turned twelve. He put away the dresses and costumes. The doll house went up in the attic and Taylor’s fantasies were all in his mind.
Until one fateful Saturday that changed everything. This is that story.
Being sixteen is a big deal for a teenager, it's an even bigger deal when you've transformed yourself into a girl using powers you didn't even know you had.
Coping with a new body is one thing, learning to harness your new abilities is something else, then add a fledgling career as a model on top. It's fortunate Shannon has her friends at her side as she follows in her sister's footsteps.
It's bad enough having classroom politics, now you have to worry about celestials and demons and the fate of your world and several others... and it's not even Wednesday.
