I recall being bundled into a car–Abby’s old thing I think–and then being driven away from the High Street.
That was about the limit of my awareness.

She felt his lips on the base of her neck just above her shoulder then were gone leaving her skin feeling once again, naked. Then they pressed behind her ear, parting slightly as she felt the tip of his tongue against her flesh. A nervous, breathless giggle escaped her lips.

“What was I thinking? Maybe you should ask your son, or I should more correctly say, daughter, was thinking? That is entirely the pertinent question at hand,” she answered back with a calm and authoritative manner to her voice.

Miss Benson was pushing all the wrong buttons with my Mother. My Mom didn’t become successful by being stupid and she didn’t like to be pushed around, not at all!

Then a sudden flash of recall. The tiny courtroom stenographer in my mind read back last night's transcript, 'These readings usually came from folks that identified as trans-gendered.'

Our lips parted. Her sweet, pretty face was flushed. Her lipstick had smudged and I wondered if mine had too.
She grabbed a couple of tissues from a box on the small table and gently wiped away my tears.
I did the same for her; it was such a tender moment.

Mom let go of my lips, pushed my head to the side and whispered, "Glyph Shield: Thurisaz!"

There was a loud boom and I closed my eyes, hugging mom tightly. Then I heard two voices, male and female, saying, "What the hell?!!!"

I opened my eyes. Mom's face was one of shock, so I looked behind. Uriel's face was a picture of outrage. Between us, was a spear with its tip buried to the ground. I can barely make out the word 'Amphillogiai'.

Mom suddenly let out a great laugh, "Uriel, it seems like your old friend has something to say about your habit of abducting brides."

“I’m sure Miss Benson put no pressure on you to cover her butt either to keep up this charade?” Mom spat.

“Really Mom!” I pleaded. “I chose this.”

“Lynn, I’m so angry right now, please, don’t say another word! You and Mindy could have ended this before things went beyond crazy. All you had to do was tell the truth, and Miss Benson should have accepted that she was part of a cruel hoax. That should have been the end of it.”

Erika felt a pull in her groin as she stepped forward. Smooth dark skin and well muscled shoulders stood waiting for her. She ached to touch that perfect skin, to carress it and feel it's silkiness under her fingers, but gained control of herself and zipped her squad leader's dress.

After a quick change into a pale blue smock top and long, dark blue gypsy skirt, I made my way to the Toad and Tart.
It had clouded over slightly, bringing a bit of a relief from the sun’s hot rays, beating down on my head.
Also the breeze off the sea helps to cool things a little.
