Last Saturday morning I woke-up, did my Transcendental meditation, got out of bed and turned on NPR (radio). I then heard most of a program on various trans topics. Here is a link to this podcast:

I have always been a fan of Richard Dawkins for his no-nonsense attitude to myths and superstition, science works on evidence not 'imaginary friends'. It appears he feels the same about transgender people which has led the American Humanist Association to withdraw an award they gave him 1996, as humanist of the year.

Kristal Larson's election to township clerk in central Lake County is being celebrated by proponents of LGBTQ rights across the Chicago area and the nation.

Larson, chosen by voters Tuesday as Avon Township's next clerk, is the first openly transgender candidate to win elected office in Lake County and only the second in Illinois' history. Larson previously served as an Avon Township trustee but was not openly transgender at that time.

Statistically, here in the UK, it is more likely to snow at Easter than Christmas

So apparently transgender people are no longer considered pariahs when it comes to serving in the American military. Most of us knew this was coming, it was pretty much a campaign promise of the current administration, but the Pentagon formally announced its change in policy today. Dr. Rachael Levine has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate as assistant secretary of Health and Human Services. She is the first openly transgender woman to hold a cabinet-level post.

I've done something like this before but no one bothered to check it out. Well, Our President JUST signed the stimulus/covid relief bill into law!!!! As of 11:11 today!!! There seems to be a misconception that some Dr. Seuss books have been banned and that the US Government is responsible.

THIS IS NOT TRUE.

The books are not banned and it has nothing to do with the US Government despite attempts to make it appear so by some so-called conservative politicians.

The books in question are still available but the family company that controls the publishing has decided that in today's society some of the characterisations may appear racist and so they have decided not to sell any more of those particular books.

Nope no zany kids entertainment, just my Sunday post before the Sunday roast!
