I wish!
Its certainly a nice bright day if a bit on the breezy side but i see shovelling horse poo in my future - such a glamorous life!
The week has continued in a more summery vein although increasingly stiff winds have kept the temperatures lower than it looks!
Thursday then, no excuses to not go out so i set off in a generally easterly direction for a saunter across to the eastern reaches of the Avon eventually stopping for lunch to the south of Malmersbury. It had been a slog at times but the payback was a sort of following wind back across the Cotswolds. Somehow I fitted in over 1000m of up in the 113km ride.
After 'dinner' I found myself assisting with Bev's latest gardening project - more pigeon proofing!
On to Friday, more gardening, planting out the first broad beans and the first lot of Romanesco cauliflower then it was a longish walk for a little bit of shopping.
Saturday is of course another ride day, the wind was still from the east but rather than slog out onto the Cotswolds, I decided on a more northerly route in the lee of the scarp. not that it was any less windy or even hilly but the lanes were pretty quiet and I eventually stopped for my 'lunch' on the southern flanks of the Dursley hump - a finger of Cotswold hill that reaches out towards the Severn. It was most pleasant sat in the shade of a Linden looking out over the Severn Vale, I could've happily stayed there the rest of the afternoon!
But instead I made my way west towards the Severn before following the waters south and back to Cabot Town - over a thousand metres again but this time spread over 122km. I've not caught up on my target yet but I'm getting there, the deficit has been almost halved this month to @ 500km, by mid year i should be back on course.
Today, well I've already got the washing out then after this posting I've got the poo shifting, some planting out and a walk to fit in.
So, today's the day, the first chapter of Gaby - Ontario is posted. This 23rd volume of the life and times of Gaby Bond will keep you gripped right up to the final paragraph! Missing Cousins, fashion shows, the arrival of old friends, starting college and then the big trip to Canada - our heroine never has a dull moment! So have a read of Home Comforts which picks up the morning after the team's return from Spain...
So there you are, enjoy your Sunday and think about the poo shoveller in sunny Brunelville!
Tschuss,
Madeline Anafrid
