overwhelmed by Erin's generosity

When I posted a link to my story "The things we do for love" here, I wasn't expecting more than maybe a couple people clicking on the link and enjoying the story. But Erin and the elves here decided I needed a present, so they not only put the story back on the top of the front page, they added a beautiful image to it as well.

Thank you ever so much. After grinding out my latest down time, to get this kind of generosity ...

I'm ... overwhelmed ...

I only wish I could do something in return ...

good news!

Further to yesterday's missive i've had a busy time today. I spent the morning getting the meds I forgot i needed to collect on Saturday before shopping for some new bib shorts and other bits I need before I go to Austria in a fortnight.

Back home a lot lighter of purse I got down to the writing I should have done Saturday. It went okay, I got the chapter finished mid evening which gave me enough time to put together and format the second arc ready for Wednesday publication.

I want to give a spotlight to some older stories of mine

Okay, although I'm not comfortable blowing my own horn much, I want to do something a little risky and put a brief spotlight on some of my older stories. Since we have a lot of new readers here, they may not have seen them the first go-round. Its a bit like the Retro Big Closet feature you may see here from time to time.

In a quandry

I started a story about 2 years ago and have been working on it off and on since. Lately I've been putting more effort into it as the direction of the story has evolved. I've set the story in a high school. A real high school and the protagonist is involved in one of the real groups. I'm not using any real world names; everyone is fictional. The school is being used as mostly a backdrop but the activity the central character is involved with is a real entity. I have characters using phrases used at the school. I did this because I thought it'd be fun to use a non-fictional setting.

New coyote chapter

Sorry it has taken me this long to post this chapter. For those that do not know, I work for a school district and this time of the year with trying to get everything ready for the start of school can get pretty hectic, leaving me exhausted and unable to do any writing when I get home from work.

UPDATE: And That's That

UPDATE #2: The city wouldn't go for it. They wouldn't go for any of the suggestions in the comments either. Thanks for the help. It was worth a shot. They suggested we get a lawyer. As of right now, I still have 30 days to vacate the house.

UPDATE: My brother explained the situation to his boss---a man he's known for years---and the boss wants us to bring him a list of how much money is owed. He's agreed to pay it off if we agree to take action to get the home put in our names.

I could use some feedback

I am attempting to do something totally different for my next story: do it as if it was a script for a play. If anybody has any experience in that format they are willing to share, I'd love to get feedback ...

New Book-Gold Digger Bride Demoted to Grade School on Amazon

I will start with a potentially important point, as opposed to many of my stories, this story does not involve cross-dressing or any gender issues at all. It focuses on age regression and social demotion. It is a rewrite of a story I wrote many years ago expanded to hopefully be better written and more consistent.

This is the story of a new bride jumping into a family with a high school age daughter and a strong housekeeper who has raised the daughter since the mother died several years before.

Flashback and other ideas I've had for 21 years or so

Flashback

I know, the title is not original...nor is the concept, but it deals with a girl who can go back in time by literally taking a step back. She can go back to a particular day and retain the knowledge of what occurred.

There are times where her powers bring her to situations where there are more of her in the same moment in time and they have to solve the quantum puzzle at hand. I had one scene in particular where her girlfriend has been accused of murdering someone and in her attempt to clear her name she is shot which causes a paradox.

Update on Atalanta's story

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to post more chapters about Atalanta's continuing adventures but a lot of things contributed to that. Ashleigh my editor has been fighting an illness as I have which in the last month has worsened with pinched/inflamed nerves in my back and hips and now COPD. And my husband is in nursing care and decided he wanted to recuperate in his home state; two states away. Stuff happens but you can't quit.

Someone sent me a message about Patrick Macnee's autobiography

I've read the book, it's hilarious and I'd like to thank whoever put me onto it. As an autobiography of an actor (best known for 'The Avengers' on television) it records his extraordinary life, from his very eccentric parents to his education, war years and life on the stage with all his adventures and misadventures. Highly recommended. It's called 'Blind in One Ear' by the way and that's not a typo. The book explains why.

Thank You, Erin

For years I had this itch and didn't know how to scratch it. . .or even what it was.

I had to write quite a bit, in my business. People frequently told me that I had a real talent for writing. Some close friends said I should write a book.

It wasn't until I started to read TG fiction that I said, "I can do that. Writing is my itch and I'm going to take care of it."

Somebody Swiped My Idea!

A while ago I wrote The Spot, in which our hero is transformed into our heroine by video magic into a woman and whisked to an exotic locale simply by opening a bottle of the sopnsor's dish soap. Of course he learns to like it and lives happily ever after in women's clothes.

Imagine my surprise when I saw this in the detergent aisle of the supermarket. I have to wonder if it would work for me if I started using the stuff.

Greetings from Uig

Uig, the gateway to the isles....
It is doubtful that my lodging for Monday/Tuesday has anything like a decent internet connection (if at all) so I'm posting this from a damp and windy Uig. That means that you lucky people get to read the last part of Coming Out from Undercover a day early... Good Eh.

Staycation Story Contest Winners!

It's time to announce the winners of the July story contest!

We had a lot of great entries this time around. I want to make sure every last author who wrote for the contest knows just how much I appreciate their hard work. It's the stories that keep a site like BCTS alive, and without your dedication and effort none of us would have this wonderful place to call home.

"I Can't Go Home Like This" Continuation

Does anyone know if C. Sprite continued her story "I Can't Go Home Like This" on another website or if someone wrote a Fan-Fiction continuation? The latest on her story page is Part 65, added 8-23-2002. I would appreciate any information anyone can provide. Thanks.

A place for promotions

I notice that more and more blog postings are about book releases. I wonder if there could be a dedicated place for books, where they could last a little longer than in the blogs. I have no problem with authors making a posting about their books in the blogs, but I think to encourage sales, a longer lasting place might be appropriate. In other words, when the release falls off the blog, it could move to the new place. The Forums section seems dead, maybe that is where they could go.

Does something like this seem workable Erin? What do others think?

A New Version of Nanites, Copy.Cure. is now a Kindle Book!

Copy Cure Cover.jpg

Last year, I uploaded a story here called 'Nanites' (27,000 words). After it ran, I received excellent constructive criticism from our readers. I rewrote it and made it a novel (70,000 words). It just went up on Amazon today and I am very proud of it.

Hunting a story - could you please help?

A year or so ago I read a brilliant story... and I can't remember it. Could anyone help me remember where it is please?

A young boy is a talented artist attending a catholic school. His family however are not very supportive of his talent.
He enters a statewide talent contest having forged his parents approval and gets through the preliminary round. The only problem is his covert
alter ego is a girl.

Her winning art series is based on the 'manners of death'

If you could help it would be very much appreciated. Thank you

Looking for a story to read again

I read a story a few years back about a family. The father was a CIA type agent and was killed. The mother was a former agent. The two boys (the older was a pianist) were posing as girls then decided they like it. Any suggestions?

Looking for a story

I am looking for a story I read several years ago about 5 astronauts on an exploratory expedition that land on a planet that is ruled by large (very tall) women. Men are or are becoming extinct, and the women use the astronauts sperm to repopulate the planet. Each of the rulers of the planet take one of the men as their personal companion .
Thanks for any help identifying the title or author of this story.

Two New Books From Karin Bishop

If you're on my mailing list, you may already have this information. If not ...

I’m trying something different. Readers of my shorter stories on BCTS have asked for Kindle versions, so I’ve combined two stories in two books. And each is a reduced price! I can't guarantee that Amazon will allow me to keep the original posts here; they may vanish. In any event, those originals were edited, revised, nipped and tucked for these books.

The stories in each book have similar themes:

Who I Am on Amazon

I have released the ebook and paperback of Who I Am on Amazon

I want to thank everyone who has read and/or commented on it, that has meant a lot to me.

I have had the idea for the story since 2001 and wanted to do more with it after I wrote it in script form but didn’t know how to make it work until two years ago.

Trying to find a story

Hi all,

I'm trying to find a story - not sure if it was posted here as a serial or if it has been published; it is a sci-fi about a space pilot forcibly transgendered (m2f) - rescued from the enemies "hospital" ship along with other crew who have also been changed. Helps some other crew come to terms with their change, while still having issues hirself. Finds out she looks like a member of an allied planets rulers, and that there is a plot to destabilize that planet.

Any ideas?

Traveling by bike

For the purposes of a story or perhaps real life, I am wondering how far a rider can push a bike in a day? For my purposes, my bike has been quite nice with the gear ratios being to my liking but perhaps a bit low. My tires are 700 x 32 (what does that even mean?) with a maximum inflation of 75 psi, which I routinely run at 80 psi. It's got a Shimano sprocket set. The frame is one of those crosses between a high bar and a drop frame. I'm very tender, so there will be no high bar frame.

Due to a past broken C-6, I ride upright. 9-11 MPH is fine for me.

Just my opinion, so just take or ignore it as such

To me, there are three critical parts to a book. The first half of the first chapter; major characters are introduced, tone and theme are set. If you don't have them hooked halfway through chapter 1, you're screwed and they may not continue. The final chapter, all questions should be answered and give closure unless continuation via sequels. Third; the backstory. No matter where you put it in the book, you eventually should explain why things are the way they are. If it's a series, you can stretch that, just as long as you don't contradict previous information.
