Something to lighten the mood

I thought with all that has been happening I'd provide a small exerpt from one of the stories I'm writing. Understand I haven't truly edited it and its still raw. But so you all know Mel is 13 and Dwayne is 14.

Lisa walked into the apartment when she heard the voices coming from the bedroom. That's right shove that piston in. Mel said.

Do you think I used enough lube? The boy asked.

I hope so I don't want it to be scorched. Oh god that feels good. Pump it some more.

Listening the conversation seemed to get worse.

In a few weeks I have the opportunity to follow up my radio interview with an internet TV one. This would be an hour long (I thought the half hour would be long but I didn't even touch on everything I would have liked).

No one ever suggested that it was easy being a writer, though I always thought on BC it was easier than most places because of the friendly atmosphere. I'm not so sure anymore. I'm seriously thinking I might stop writing Bike, perhaps it's run its course - maybe I don't have anything to say anymore without apparently upsetting people, maybe I should just bow out and let someone else entertain people for nothing.

I'm still thinking about it. I won't withdraw my stuff as others have done but I might not post here again either.

Update.

I've decided, at last, what story I'm going to write. As with most of the ideas I decide to turn into stories, however, the more I think about it the more complex it's turning out to be.

New Story, Free Books

I've just poked my head out of the ground to start a new multi-part story, Pirates. I've been concentrating on writing novels (not always with TG themes) and other matters. I'd like to announce that two of my Kindle eBooks will be available for free downloads next week. Many of you have been kind and purchased these already, but newcomers may find them an introduction to my writing.

When I heard this talk on "TED Talks", the woman's story surprised me by its practicality. There are lots of concepts and ideas there that can be used by us all. Many of those ideas are exactly what I had to learn in my own recovery.

I hope that many of you will find this as useful as I did.

It's been brought to my attention that the fact that my new book's not TG (see last blog post) might affect people's purchasing decisions. Fair enough, I didn't even think of it at the time I posted the last blog post, so I'm letting people know now.

I am really happy that something I did in the most recent chapter of Written in the Body played off well. Something I have been setting up for half the story was made clear and that is a slight trans element in a side story. People were surprised but supportive. It is playing out really well and that makes me happy. I have no idea how many of you are following that story but I was just excited about that and wanted to share. :D

Ancient TG Fiction

When I set out to write ‘No Greater Love’ I used a story I thought was from the ‘Iliad’ by Homer which was written circa 760-710 BC. It is the one that tells of how how Thetis, the mother of Achilles, fearful for her son’s safety sends him off to the court of King Lycomedes of Skyros to live as a girl rather than risk death in war.

Need some book help

Hello everyone! I'm in need of some help. Some years ago I wrote my first book, Heroes of Justice. Finally I've got around to getting it ready to go up on Kindle, but for one small problem, the Cover. I understand that there is a service were you can for a low price ask for a cover to be made for you. That's great!

However, you still need to have some idea of what to ask for since the artist has more than likely never read your story.

How to you top a Magnum Opus?

I'm starting to think that, no matter what I do, I'll never be able to top "Op Rescue- The New Co-Ed", at least in my mind. It may be my Magnum Opus, my best that was, is, or will be. I'm getting the muse back in action, and the work is a new Op Rescue story about a young boy who was a runaway - even though it will be multiple chapters, I can't see it even living up to my feelings about New Co-Ed.

If anyone has been wondering where the updates have been lately its because I've been suffering from a very SEVERE case of Writer's Block. Though I'm happy to report that I think I've broken the Block.

I probably won't be continuing the Misty story for a bit though....I'm a bit stumped with it. I do have another quick story in mind though...one that I think fans of the DRU will be happy to see.

Due to Life, I'm running a little late with chapter 18. But don't worry! Everything is already written in my copious amount of notes spread across three devices! (one of which is an actual paper notepad. I'm high-tech!) It'll just take me a while to whip up the narrative mortar to hold these bricks of plot and exposition together :)

It'll definitely be posted today, though. Uh, unless Even More Things Happen. Let's hope not!

On that note, back to narrating!

I know I haven't been doing much around the site for a while other than lurking but I haven't seen Doug in a long time or even heard from him. Just wondering if anyone has heard from him and how he's doing. Thanks.

The future of That's How the System Works

Taxonomy upgrade extras:

Blog About:

Hi all, I wanted to start off by saying I'm sorry to everyone who expected to see more That's How the System Works last year. I wanted to let everyone know what I have been up to regarding my writing. One of the problems I have encountered often as I write the story is that new ideas often pop into my head, ones I want to incorporate into the story, but may not always mesh properly with the existing cannon of the story.

Updated Destiny ebook

For anyone that is interested I've uploaded updated versions of the eBook (in pdf and epub format) for the final book in my Ragnarok Rising trilogy, Destiny: Legacy of a Spellbinder. The changes are not major, but they are there. The text is now identical to the previous minor revisions already made here on the web version and I've made some changes to the formatting.

I've updated the links on all the affected organizer pages.

Today I am angry.

I find it incomprehensible that some people can't be decent when commenting or blogging. Remember, when you WRITE something, there is nothing that indicates anything but the WORDS you use. There are no other indicators that could soften the impact of words that appear unkind or severely critical. Normally, when people communicate, there are visual and verbal cues that can soften the impact of words that might otherwise seem unkind. When you write, all there is, is the words.

The full version is now available in the Kindle version from Amazon.com and in paperback from Lulu.co.

Those of you who started transitioning in the 80's, can you tell me a little about your experience, treatments available, time frames involved and any state requirements (doesn't matter which state). No, I did not discover time travel, I am writing an actual transgendered woman into Angel and would like to know what was different vs what's available now. Thank you for your help.

I don't believe in muses, writing is a cerebral thing and it's something I've always done. I've written Bike most days for the past six years to prove to myself it can be done without loads of drama, or special conditions - I just sit there for an hour/ ninety minutes and out pops the next episode. In some ways it's easier than writing from scratch because my characters are well established and I have plot lines I can continue or even pick up from a while back.
